Choose your travel pace
Two to four days work for a focused Jinghong food or nature break. Five days allow more time for gardens and forest outings. A week adds Nannuo and Menghai tea country, with separate days for tea hosts and tropical gardens.
When to visit
The cooler, drier months are often comfortable for outdoor visits. Hot periods call for early starts and shaded breaks; rainy-season plans need flexible walking routes. Tea picking, fresh-leaf processing and village events depend on the season and host availability.
Arriving and choosing a base
Arrive through Xishuangbanna Gasa Airport or Xishuangbanna railway station. The botanical garden is at Menglun, outside Jinghong, so allow a dedicated day or stay nearby. Confirm English guiding and private farm visits before travelling.
