Yunnan private car tours work best when the car solves a particular journey: a village outing, an easier luggage transfer or a short circuit between overnight bases. Start with the nights and the actual pickup address, then choose what belongs in each day. The routes here emphasise a car with a driver; self-drive is a separate rental arrangement with different document and contract requirements.

A day trip and a transfer day need different requests

For a return outing, state where the day starts and ends, how much walking suits the party and the one visit that matters most. For a one-way day, list every suitcase and the next hotel. A route that looks short on a map can become tiring when luggage handling, queues, town access and meal stops are added. Keep a generous gap before a flight or reserved train rather than treating the final attraction as a fixed entitlement.

An old-town hotel address may not be reachable by car. Ask for the legal stopping place and the walk to reception, including any steps. If different members of the party walk at different speeds, decide where everyone will reunite. A driver staying with the vehicle is a different service from a guide accompanying the visit.

A foreign licence alone should not be treated as permission to drive in mainland China. Name the main visits and the days you want a car. State whether English-speaking accompaniment is needed rather than assuming that English online assistance means an English-speaking driver. Admissions, scenic-area buses, boats, cableways, meals and guiding should each have an explicit inclusion or exclusion. For northern Yunnan, allow the itinerary to change with road and visitor-area conditions; an accessible viewpoint and a closed high trail are different products.
