Overview
Add Zhenyuan’s riverside old town to Guizhou’s Huangguoshu, Xiaoqikong and Xijiang circuit. This six-day private itinerary has four touring days between arrival and departure days, with five accommodation nights. The overnight sequence is Guiyang, Anshun, Kaili, Xijiang and Guiyang; Zhenyuan is a daytime visit, not an overnight stop.
The base includes a Chinese-speaking driver, four dedicated touring days, selected arrival and departure transfers, five hotel or guesthouse nights and five adult breakfasts. Listed adult main visits and the specified scenic transport are included, with an introductory batik activity in Xijiang. A sightseeing guide and English interpretation are separate requests.
The cover is a regional travel illustration, not a photograph of a named viewpoint, booked hotel or actual trip.

Why Zhenyuan changes the classic circuit
The additional old-town day takes you east from Kaili to Zhenyuan before the Xijiang overnight. It suits travellers who want another town setting alongside the waterfall, forest pools and village. It adds road time as well as variety, so choose it for that interest rather than assuming an extra calendar day always means a slower trip.
The published five-day Huangguoshu, Libo and Xijiang route is the closer comparison for a first visit without Zhenyuan. For more Miao and Dong village settings instead of another old town, compare the five-day village and batik programme. Their hotel sequences and included services differ.
Arrival, Huangguoshu and Xiaoqikong
Day one is a transfer and settling-in day. Early arrivals can use free time independently, but there is no included city sightseeing circuit or guide that day. Send the actual arrival service before fixing the transfer.
Day two visits the open Huangguoshu visitor areas before the Anshun hotel. Scenic transport serves the park’s road stages; wet paths and steps remain part of the visit. Any Water Curtain Cave access depends on the park’s available entry arrangements, and a particular walking section or water level is not guaranteed.
Day three combines the Xiaoqikong visit with the onward road journey to Kaili. Use the open pool, bridge, forest and waterfall paths at a pace that leaves time for that transfer. A boat ride or extra paid activity is not automatically part of the listed admission and scenic-transport base.
Zhenyuan, the Xijiang night and batik
Visit Zhenyuan’s old-town river setting on day four, then continue to Xijiang for the night. Zhenyuan time is a daytime stop within a touring day; this programme does not promise a river cruise, a town-centre hotel or a night photography session there.
At Xijiang, discuss the walk from the scenic-transport stop to the selected guesthouse. The road vehicle cannot reach every village property. Pack a small overnight bag and agree secure storage for larger cases before leaving them in the vehicle.
Day five leaves more village time and the listed introductory batik activity before the Guiyang return. The activity uses a small cloth, with the finished item listed as take-away. The local instructor’s presence does not establish English instruction. Ask about communication support, suitability for children and the workshop timing before booking. Public lanes and village buildings are separate from private homes; ask permission before portraits or entering a home.
What is included and what needs its own allowance
| Item | Included base | Separate or conditional |
|---|---|---|
| Transport | Four touring days with a Chinese-speaking driver and private vehicle; selected arrival and departure transfers | English guide or interpretation, free-time transport and extra detours |
| Rooms and food | Five selected accommodation nights; five adult breakfasts | Exact room selection, single or extra beds, other adult meals, child meal and bed entitlement |
| Visits | Listed adult main admission, specified Huangguoshu, Xiaoqikong and Xijiang scenic transport; introductory Xijiang batik | Extra paid lifts, boats and unlisted activities; child entitlement assessed for the selected booking |
Who should choose this pace?
This is a moving circuit, with a different overnight base after each touring day. It suits travellers who value the range of places more than keeping one hotel. Guests who find frequent packing, long drives or damp steps difficult should request fewer stops or extra nights before booking.
The listed adult band starts at twelve, with a child band from two to under twelve. The usual child base shares an adult bed and excludes meals, with a different arrangement needed for one adult and one child. Attraction entitlement and any scenic-transport benefit must be matched to the individual child and booking, rather than assumed from a general free-entry claim. Travellers under eighteen need an adult companion.
Discuss pushchairs, wheelchairs, balance and knee needs before choosing the walking sections and village room. If rain or a closure affects a visit, agree the usable alternative and any cost adjustment. Keep the final flight or train on day six: the route returns to Guiyang for the fifth night, so there is no need to force a departure after the Xijiang road stage.
Plan your dates and onward travel
Send dates, party size, children’s ages, room preferences, large-case count, flight or train details, walking limits and language requirements through Plan My Trip. Include food allergies, halal requirements and prayer breaks. An ordinary hotel breakfast is not represented as halal-certified, and English guiding is a separate service to request.
Bring the original travel document matching hotel and admission bookings. Nationality and document type help arrange the appropriate registration; passport copies are not needed for the initial enquiry. Your proposal will state the selected hotels, pickup, return, tickets and other expenses. Price on request.
Explore Guiyang as the gateway, compare the Guizhou private tour collection and browse city and sightseeing journeys or cultural routes.
Plan the practical details
Use Guizhou itinerary and regional choices, Huangguoshu walking and cave reservations, Xiaoqikong entrances and Libo stays, Xijiang overnight, rooms and luggage to match the route with your walking, hotel and transfer needs.
Daily Itinerary
Use the agreed arrival transfer to the selected Guiyang hotel. The rest of the day is free time; independent meals, city transport and optional visits are separate. Send the flight or train details before the meeting point is fixed.
Visit the operating Huangguoshu areas with the specified scenic transport. Choose the walks around wet paths, steps and your party’s pace; particular water levels and Water Curtain Cave entry are not guaranteed. Continue to Anshun for the night. Adult breakfast is included; other meals are separate.

After adult breakfast, travel to Xiaoqikong for open water-and-forest visitor paths, then continue to Kaili for the selected hotel. Keep the onward drive in mind when choosing the walking sections; boats and extra activities need their own arrangement. Other meals are separate.

After adult breakfast, visit Zhenyuan’s daytime old-town river setting, then continue to Xijiang for the guesthouse night. No Zhenyuan cruise or overnight is promised. Carry a small overnight bag for the village approach; other meals are separate.

Have the included adult breakfast, use the available village time and join the listed introductory batik activity, with local instruction and a small cloth to take away. English interpretation is separate. Rejoin the driver for Guiyang and the final hotel night; other meals are separate.
Adults have the included breakfast. Leave free time around hotel checkout and the selected departure transfer. No guided city outing or free-time transport is included; fit the meeting time to the actual flight or train.
