5-Day Guizhou Private Tour: Huangguoshu, Libo and Xijiang
Overview
Travel from Guiyang to Huangguoshu Waterfall, the green water landscapes of Libo and an overnight in Xijiang Miao Village. This five-day, four-night private journey combines three full touring days with separate arrival and departure days. It suits travellers who want a compact introduction to Guizhou and are comfortable with several road transfers.
The base arrangement is private transport with a Chinese-speaking driver, rather than an English-guided sightseeing tour. Choose this version if that service matches your needs. If you require an English-speaking guide, request a separately arranged guided version before booking.
Choose this five-day route for waterfalls, forest pools and one Xijiang night. For more village settings and a batik activity instead of Huangguoshu and Libo, compare the five-day Miao and Dong village journey. Both involve four nights and several hotel changes.

Choose this route for a compact first visit
The scenery changes from a major waterfall to forest pools and a hillside village. The Xijiang night is the main cultural contrast to the city hotels. This is a moving itinerary: the two main scenic days also contain onward driving. Travellers seeking long village conversations, minimal packing or short driving days should request extra nights rather than add more sights.
Accommodation and luggage
| Base | Nights | What to plan around |
|---|---|---|
| Guiyang | 2, on separate nights | City hotels at the start and finish |
| Dushan or Libo area | 1 | Exact base follows the booked hotel arrangement |
| Xijiang | 1 | Village guesthouse; lanes, slopes and local transport affect access |
The standard adult arrangement uses two people sharing a room. Hotel names and the exact room arrangement are provided in the dated proposal. Village lodging differs from city hotels in sound insulation, access and atmosphere. Pack a small overnight bag for Xijiang and agree where larger luggage stays. Share bed preferences, children’s ages, mobility needs and dietary requirements before booking. No specific hotel star rating or room view is promised by this page.
Included services and separate costs
| Item | Base arrangement | Important distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Road travel | Private vehicle and Chinese-speaking driver for the three touring days, plus the agreed Guiyang arrival and departure transfers | No touring vehicle during independent free time |
| Accommodation | Four nights in the overnight areas listed; adult twin-share basis | Children’s beds and single occupancy need a separate room arrangement |
| Meals | Four breakfasts for adults | Lunches and dinners are separate; child breakfast entitlement differs |
| Adult admission | Huangguoshu, Xiaoqikong and Xijiang main admission with the listed standard scenic shuttles | Optional rides, boats, escalators and extra paid activities are separate |
| Return-day stop | Qingyan or Yelang Valley, one selected stop | The two places are alternatives, with no cash substitute assumed |
| Guiding | Chinese-speaking driver service | A sightseeing guide and English interpretation are not included |
Children’s pricing follows a different service scope: do not assume an adult ticket, a separate bed or all breakfasts are included. Give each child’s age and height so the written proposal can separate transport, bed, meals and admission. Travel to and from Guiyang, personal spending, optional activities and services outside the agreed programme are separate. Scenic-area insurance included with a ticket does not replace personal travel insurance.
Before you book
Carry the original travel document used for tickets and accommodation. Tell us your nationality and document type when requesting the trip so hotel registration and ticket handling can be arranged for your actual party. Do not assume an automatic gate is the correct entrance for every passport. Passport copies are not needed for the initial route enquiry.
Water levels, spray and path conditions change with the weather. Wear shoes with grip and keep rain protection handy. Scenic shuttles reduce some distances but do not remove steps or slippery surfaces. Tell us about walking limits before booking. Share halal food and prayer requirements explicitly: ordinary hotel breakfasts and free-choice meals are not a promise of halal catering.

Daily Itinerary
Arrive in Guiyang and take the arranged private transfer to your hotel. The arrival day is for settling in rather than a scheduled sightseeing circuit. If you have time and energy, make a short independent city walk or enjoy a local meal near your hotel. Optional city visits, entrance tickets and vehicles during free time are separate from the included transfer.
Send your flight or train details when requesting the trip. The meeting point and contact method should be agreed before departure, especially if members of your party arrive separately. Overnight in Guiyang; meals are at your own expense.
Leave Guiyang for Huangguoshu, where broad falling water, spray and green valley scenery form the focus of the day. Use the scenic transport and walking paths to visit the waterfall area. Other sections of the scenic area can add steps and walking, so discuss the route before setting off.
After the visit, continue to the booked overnight base in the Dushan or Libo area. This is a substantial day with both sightseeing and a further road transfer. Keep the evening for dinner and rest. The Water Curtain Cave has separate access controls and cannot be guaranteed. Breakfast is included for adults; lunch and dinner are at your own expense.

Travel to Xiaoqikong in Libo for its pools, cascades and forested waterside scenery. Scenic shuttles link sections of the area, with walking between stops. Plan the visit around the main water landscapes rather than assuming every side route or boat activity will fit.
Continue by road to Xijiang Miao Village after the visit. Enter using the designated scenic transport and carry a small overnight bag to the guesthouse. There may be stone lanes, slopes or steps between the drop-off and your room. Spend the evening among the village lanes and illuminated hillside views. Overnight in Xijiang. Adult breakfast is included; other meals are separate.

Use the morning for another walk through Xijiang before returning towards Guiyang. The return-day visit is a choice between Qingyan Ancient Town and Yelang Valley. Choose Qingyan for stone lanes and old-town architecture, or Yelang Valley for an outdoor sculpture setting among green hills.
Only one of these two stops is part of this afternoon; they are alternatives rather than a promise to visit both. The stop depends on the day’s road and operating conditions. Return to your Guiyang hotel for the final night. Adult breakfast is included, while lunch and dinner are separate.
Have breakfast and take the arranged private transfer to the agreed Guiyang airport or railway station. There is no scheduled sightseeing today. Choose your pickup around the confirmed flight or train, allowing for the hotel location, road journey and departure procedures.
The programme finishes with this transfer and does not include another hotel night. Tell us if you want to extend the stay or continue to another region before the final travel arrangements are booked.
