Daylight reveals the village hillside and the paths between guesthouses.
An overnight in Xijiang leaves time for the illuminated hillside and a morning village walk.
Guiyang is the overnight gateway for this two-day journey.
Overview
Combine Zhijin Cave, Huangguoshu Waterfall, Xiaoqikong and an Xijiang village night, then return to Guiyang for a separate provincial-museum day before departure. This seven-day private journey has five sightseeing days between its arrival and departure days. It suits travellers who want cultural context after the landscapes and a final Guiyang stay before an onward connection.
The base uses a private vehicle with a Chinese-speaking driver, six selected accommodation nights, six adult breakfasts, listed adult main admissions and the specified scenic buses. English interpretation is separate. The final museum visit follows its dated opening and reservation arrangements; a private vehicle does not create an admission slot.

Seven days with five sightseeing days
| Day | Route and focus | Overnight |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Guiyang arrival and selected transfer; independent time | Guiyang |
| 2 | Zhijin Cave; continue to selected Anshun-area accommodation | Anshun area |
| 3 | Huangguoshu visitor areas; onward road stage | Libo |
| 4 | Xiaoqikong; transfer into the Xijiang overnight | Xijiang |
| 5 | Xijiang village time; return to the city | Guiyang |
| 6 | Guizhou Provincial Museum when open and reserved; remaining city time as agreed | Guiyang |
| 7 | Departure transfer around the booked train or flight | None |
Why choose this version?
The extra Guiyang museum day changes the purpose of the final stay: it gives you time for the province’s wider cultural context after visiting a Miao village. It is a distinct visit, with its own opening and booking needs, rather than another long drive. Three of the six nights are in Guiyang: arrival, the return from Xijiang and the night after the museum.
This is different from the five-day cave-and-waterfall circuit, which includes a Zhijin Grand Canyon component and a different final-night sequence. It also differs from the seven-day Miao and Dong village route, which goes farther into southeastern Guizhou for Dong-village visits. Compare the actual stops and nights, not just the headline length.
The scenic days still involve substantial walking and road transfers. The city time at the end does not make Huangguoshu-to-Libo or Xiaoqikong-to-Xijiang a short transfer. If your priority is staying in one place for several nights, send that preference before choosing this circuit.
Arrival: choose the meeting point before the city hotel
Send your full arrival service, date and terminal or station name. Selected meeting points include Longdongbao Airport and Guiyang, Guiyang North, Guiyang East and Longdongbao railway stations, with city pickup arranged for the specific address. Different stations are not interchangeable.
The arrival day has no included city sightseeing programme. If time allows, you may choose an independent riverside walk or another local visit, paying its separate transport and admission where applicable. Use the Guiyang hotel and transport guide to match the hotel address to the time you will actually spend in the city.
Zhijin Cave and the first regional night

Day two leaves Guiyang for Zhijin Cave, with listed main admission and specified visitor transport. Inside, the visitor route remains a walk through chambers, including steps and potentially damp surfaces. Road transport to the entrance does not remove the walking demands.
The overnight is in the Anshun area, with the exact property and address selected in your written proposal. Check the location rather than assuming that an area name guarantees a hotel at the waterfall gate. This version does not automatically include the separate Zhijin Grand Canyon route or its elevator.
Huangguoshu and the longer transfer to Libo
Use the morning and early afternoon for the agreed Huangguoshu visitor areas. Prioritise the main waterfall, Doupotang and the Tianxingqiao sections appropriate to the group. Discuss a shorter walk before departure if anyone needs it; do not leave that decision until an onward transfer is already late.
The specified scenic bus is included, but the main escalator, optional cableways and unlisted rides are separate. Water Curtain Cave needs its own safe operating access and reservation; main admission does not guarantee entry. Read the Huangguoshu guide when comparing these different components.
After the visit, continue to Libo. This is a significant road stage, so plan dinner, essential medicines and the hotel’s arrival communication around the agreed timing. Do not add another distant attraction to the same evening.
Xiaoqikong, then a night inside Xijiang

Follow the chosen Xiaoqikong visitor route with admission and specified sightseeing transport. Decide the entrance, final exit and meeting point before entering. A shorter route may suit a family better than trying to visit every named pool and waterfall before the village transfer.
Reach Xijiang for the selected overnight. The actual guesthouse, room type and approach must be agreed; neither a hillside view nor a particular property is promised by the general route. Expect a combination of scenic transport and walking on the final approach, with lanes or steps between the stop and the room.
Carry a small overnight bag, keeping documents, valuables and medicines with you, and agree secure storage for larger cases. The Xiaoqikong planning guide and Xijiang lodging and luggage guide help compare those two different access arrangements.
Village morning and a return to Guiyang

Use day five for public village lanes and the open visitor areas before the drive back to Guiyang. Specific museum rooms, performances, costume photography, batik sessions and drone photography are not automatic inclusions. Ask for a dated arrangement if one of these is central to your visit.
Ask before photographing residents and keep private homes separate from public visitor routes. Ordinary daily life is not a scheduled show. Return to your selected Guiyang hotel for the first of the final two city nights.
The provincial museum: reserve the actual visit date
Day six is planned around Guizhou Provincial Museum. Agree the date, open galleries and reservation procedure before choosing the final programme. Carry the original identity document used for the reservation and establish the appropriate process for your party’s passport types. Arrange the reservation for the passports in your party before fixing this visit.
The road driver is not an English museum guide. Request English interpretation separately if you want the visit to connect the regional history and objects with the villages you have just visited. A private guided explanation, special exhibition or paid activity requires its own arrangement.
Keep the rest of the afternoon compatible with the museum visit, meals and the hotel location. If the museum cannot operate on your date, agree an alternative city programme before booking the final itinerary. No closed museum is replaced with a guaranteed special-access visit.
Included services and separate decisions
| Item | Included base | Separate or conditional |
|---|---|---|
| Road transport | Private vehicle with Chinese-speaking driver for the listed programme and selected arrival/departure transfers | English interpretation, unagreed detours and independent free-time travel |
| Six hotel nights | Guiyang3; Anshun area1; Libo1; Xijiang1 | Actual room, bed and child entitlement; no unselected view or international star rating promised |
| Meals | Six adult hotel breakfasts | Other meals and child meals; dietary arrangements need discussion |
| Visits | Listed adult cave, waterfall, Xiaoqikong and Xijiang admissions; specified scenic buses | Escalators, cableways, boats, extra cultural activities and museum reservation/operating conditions |
Suitability, food and the final departure
The listed service base does not accept pregnant travellers or children under two. These are programme conditions rather than a general restriction on travelling in Guizhou. Older children still need their actual bedding, meals, seat and admission entitlements checked; domestic concession rules are not assumed to apply to every passport holder.
Tell the planner about walking limits, allergies, vegetarian or halal dining and prayer breaks. Six ordinary hotel breakfasts are not a halal-certification promise. Agree the food stops on transfer days and any room requirements before booking.
Departure is from Guiyang on day seven. Airport or station transfer availability does not make every connection suitable; agree the pickup address, luggage allocation and check-in buffer for the actual flight or train.
Request the route for your dates
Send dates, party size, children’s ages, twin or double room preferences, luggage count, arrival and departure details, walking limits and language requirements through Plan My Trip. Include halal dining, allergies and prayer breaks. An ordinary hotel breakfast is not represented as halal-certified; English guiding needs its own arrangement.
Bring the original document used for hotel and attraction bookings. Nationality and document type help arrange registration; a passport image is not required for the initial enquiry. Your proposal will identify the rooms, vehicle, meeting point, ticket scope and supplements. Price on request.
Explore Guiyang as the gateway, compare the Guizhou private tour collection and browse city and scenic journeys or cultural routes.
