8-Day Lincang to Pu’er Tea and Coffee Journey
Overview
8-Day Lincang to Pu’er Tea and Coffee Journey: A one-way origin journey through Lincang, Mengku and Lancang toward Pu’er, with a transit overnight that gives the long road sections space.
For repeat Yunnan visitors who want two coffee regions and tea context. This is a domestic China route; no border crossing or Jingmai mountain stay is built into these eight days.
Travel illustrations show the style of the journey, rather than actual customers or a guaranteed venue.

Make the experience fit your visit
Lincang is both a city and a large region. Fengqing, Bangdong/Xigui and Mengku need different road plans; do not treat them as neighboring city stops.
| Decide before booking | What to specify |
|---|---|
| Experience depth | A cafe opening does not grant access to a tea garden, processing room or private home. Producer appointments and English interpretation are arranged separately in the written proposal. |
| Walking and comfort | Tell us about stairs, uneven paths, motion sickness, child seats and luggage. Ask the host about toilets and the nearest vehicle access. |
| Food and caffeine | State allergies, vegetarian or halal requirements and caffeine limits. A local restaurant or tea host does not automatically meet a requested dietary standard. |
| If conditions change | A hosted tasting or town heritage walk replaces a wet hillside activity. The host decides whether a production or harvest visit can take place. |
What the enquiry covers
This is a customizable private itinerary proposal. Named regions and suggested visits describe the route; the written quotation identifies the available hosts, accommodation and services for your dates. A driver, an English-speaking guide and a specialist producer are different roles. Ask which are included on each day. There is no fixed departure or guaranteed group size on this page.
Request a price breakdown for vehicle and driver, guiding or interpretation, rooms, meals, admission, tastings and workshops. Optional purchases are your choice. Travel insurance, flights, trains and transfers outside the agreed route must be addressed separately; no insurance cover is implied by an itinerary description.

Daily Itinerary
Arrive and settle into the city. Use a short tasting to agree the balance of tea and coffee for the coming days. The host calendar, language needs and luggage requirements should already be in the proposal. Keep the evening easy after travel and avoid committing to a rural appointment on arrival day.
Overnight: Lincang.

Travel to an available Bangdong/Xigui coffee host for an agreed tasting and field introduction. Processing and picking are separate seasonal requests. Ask about the beans you taste and record the details for comparison later in Pu’er. Return to the same city hotel rather than beginning the next road stage after a full estate visit.
Overnight: Lincang.
Continue toward the Mengku/Shuangjiang base. Keep the afternoon for a local tea introduction or a short permitted walk, with the exact village named in advance. This is a change of base, not a day to cover every tea mountain. Adjust activities if road conditions or arrival timing reduce daylight.
Overnight: Mengku or Shuangjiang.
Request a morning tea-host appointment only if it leaves enough time for the road to Lancang town. Lunch and comfort stops take priority over adding an extra tasting. The overnight is a transit base. It does not put you on Jingmai Mountain, and a heritage-village visit would need additional days and a different booking.
Overnight: Lancang.
Travel to Pu’er’s Simao urban area and settle into the hotel. Keep the afternoon light after consecutive road days. A city cafe provides a gentle introduction to the next coffee region, with no need for a same-day rural estate excursion. Check the following appointment and return transport while internet access is convenient.
Overnight: Pu’er.
Visit one prearranged estate suited to your main interest: a field walk, a tasting or a practical brewing session. The producer and activity are selected for your dates rather than promised from a generic list. Compare the available bean information with your Lincang notes, remembering that harvest, processing and roast all affect the result.
Overnight: Pu’er.

Choose one of two focuses before booking: a Nakeli heritage outing in Ning’er, or a second coffee appointment with a different learning purpose. This is a choice, not an automatic combination. Keep a meal break and a clear return to Simao. The alternative protects the day when a host cannot receive visitors.
Overnight: Pu’er.
Transfer to the confirmed Pu’er station or airport. Keep notes and labeled purchases organized before leaving the hotel. A delayed road stage earlier in the trip can use part of the flexible seventh day; it should not be recovered by tightening the final check-in margin.
Overnight: Departure.
