6-Day Fengqing and Mengku Tea Comparison Tour
Overview
6-Day Fengqing and Mengku Tea Comparison Tour: A two-origin tea route comparing Dianhong black tea with the Mengku area’s Pu’er tea context, with a Lincang transit night between the regions.
For enthusiasts who prefer careful tasting and producer conversations to a shopping tour. Professional sourcing or factory access needs a separate arrangement.
Travel illustrations show the style of the journey, rather than actual customers or a guaranteed venue.

Make the experience fit your visit
Lincang is both a city and a large region. Fengqing, Bangdong/Xigui and Mengku need different road plans; do not treat them as neighboring city stops.
| Decide before booking | What to specify |
|---|---|
| Experience depth | A cafe opening does not grant access to a tea garden, processing room or private home. Producer appointments and English interpretation are arranged separately in the written proposal. |
| Walking and comfort | Tell us about stairs, uneven paths, motion sickness, child seats and luggage. Ask the host about toilets and the nearest vehicle access. |
| Food and caffeine | State allergies, vegetarian or halal requirements and caffeine limits. A local restaurant or tea host does not automatically meet a requested dietary standard. |
| If conditions change | A hosted tasting or town heritage walk replaces a wet hillside activity. The host decides whether a production or harvest visit can take place. |
What the enquiry covers
This is a customizable private itinerary proposal. Named regions and suggested visits describe the route; the written quotation identifies the available hosts, accommodation and services for your dates. A driver, an English-speaking guide and a specialist producer are different roles. Ask which are included on each day. There is no fixed departure or guaranteed group size on this page.
Request a price breakdown for vehicle and driver, guiding or interpretation, rooms, meals, admission, tastings and workshops. Optional purchases are your choice. Travel insurance, flights, trains and transfers outside the agreed route must be addressed separately; no insurance cover is implied by an itinerary description.

Daily Itinerary
Meet locally and settle into the hotel. Agree whether the main interest is processing, village provenance or brewing. A first small tasting provides a baseline, with notes on the teas actually available. Incoming transfers from a railway station or airport are quoted against their exact location and arrival time.
Overnight: Fengqing.

Visit an agreed garden or cultural host in the Fengqing area. Discuss black-tea processing with the host and distinguish a demonstration from an active production day. Compare samples under similar brewing conditions when practical. Tea purchases remain optional; do not infer a whole county’s flavor from one producer or one season.
Overnight: Fengqing.
Travel to Lincang and allow a rest afternoon. This overnight breaks the change of tea region and avoids turning the next morning into another rushed transfer. A city cafe or tea room can be added if wanted, but the day does not need a second farm appointment. Check onward road conditions and the Mengku host before departure.
Overnight: Lincang.
Continue to the chosen southern base and begin with a local tea introduction. Discuss place names and sample labeling before a more detailed origin visit. The lodging location determines the final road leg; confirm parking, room facilities and meal arrangements rather than assuming the same standards as a city hotel.
Overnight: Mengku or Shuangjiang.

Use a prearranged host visit to explore the relationship between village, leaf, processing and storage. Access to gardens or private processing spaces follows the owner’s permission. After lunch, return to Lincang with a road buffer. If the morning visit would make the return too late, replace it with an earlier tasting near the accommodation.
Overnight: Lincang.
Collect your notes, sample labels and any voluntary purchases before the departure transfer. This trip introduces origins and questions to ask; it does not certify investment value, tree age or authenticity of purchased tea. Keep the morning close to the city when flight or train timing is fixed.
Overnight: Departure.
