5-Day Xigui and Mengku Pu’er Tea Tour
Overview
5-Day Xigui and Mengku Pu’er Tea Tour: A Lincang-region Pu’er tea comparison through Bangdong/Xigui and Mengku, with separate visit days and no attempt to combine both in one outing.
For tea travelers whose main interest is Pu’er tea rather than Fengqing black tea. Coffee is optional, leaving time for tea conversations.
Travel illustrations show the style of the journey, rather than actual customers or a guaranteed venue.

Make the experience fit your visit
Lincang is both a city and a large region. Fengqing, Bangdong/Xigui and Mengku need different road plans; do not treat them as neighboring city stops.
| Decide before booking | What to specify |
|---|---|
| Experience depth | A cafe opening does not grant access to a tea garden, processing room or private home. Producer appointments and English interpretation are arranged separately in the written proposal. |
| Walking and comfort | Tell us about stairs, uneven paths, motion sickness, child seats and luggage. Ask the host about toilets and the nearest vehicle access. |
| Food and caffeine | State allergies, vegetarian or halal requirements and caffeine limits. A local restaurant or tea host does not automatically meet a requested dietary standard. |
| If conditions change | A hosted tasting or town heritage walk replaces a wet hillside activity. The host decides whether a production or harvest visit can take place. |
What the enquiry covers
This is a customizable private itinerary proposal. Named regions and suggested visits describe the route; the written quotation identifies the available hosts, accommodation and services for your dates. A driver, an English-speaking guide and a specialist producer are different roles. Ask which are included on each day. There is no fixed departure or guaranteed group size on this page.
Request a price breakdown for vehicle and driver, guiding or interpretation, rooms, meals, admission, tastings and workshops. Optional purchases are your choice. Travel insurance, flights, trains and transfers outside the agreed route must be addressed separately; no insurance cover is implied by an itinerary description.

Daily Itinerary
Settle into the city and identify the two tea areas on your route. Agree the hosts, interpretation language and tasting goals before going into the countryside. Small tasting portions are sensible when several sessions are planned. An arrival delay removes the introductory session without compromising the two main origin days.
Overnight: Lincang.

Visit the agreed Bangdong/Xigui tea host, with a permitted garden walk if conditions allow. Ask about the tea served rather than assuming every sample comes from the best-known named plot. Keep a lunch break and time to write notes. A nearby coffee stop is optional only when it does not replace the substantial tea appointment.
Overnight: Lincang.
Travel to the selected base for the second tea area. Take the afternoon at an easy pace, with a local tasting if available. Compare the accommodation’s location with the next day’s meeting point, and agree the actual village or garden in the written itinerary. Famous tea names alone do not specify a visitor route.
Overnight: Mengku or Shuangjiang.

Meet the booked host and compare samples with the notes from Xigui. Ask about harvest, processing and storage without expecting a simple county-to-county ranking. Owner permission controls field access and picking. Return to Lincang after lunch or shorten the program when current road conditions require more time.
Overnight: Lincang.
Leave the final day for departure logistics and optional city purchases. Label samples while the distinctions are still clear and keep receipts. A host’s explanation is useful context, but commercial buying, export documentation and formal quality assessment need their own specialist arrangements.
Overnight: Departure.
