Overview
Enjoy eight days in Kunming, Dali and Lijiang with a deliberately relaxed verotrip private itinerary. Ancient-town walks, Bai and Naxi cultural encounters, Yunnan coffee, lakeside pauses and a choice of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain experiences are balanced with rest time and seven comfortable hotel nights.
Travel from Kunming to Dali and from Lijiang back to Kunming in first-class train seats, with private transfers and local English-speaking driver-guides at each end. The Dali-to-Lijiang transfer is by private road vehicle. The regional guides hand over between destinations; the intercity train journeys are taken independently with English boarding guidance.
Most sightseeing days aim to start around 09:00–09:30 and include only one or two main experiences. The mountain day follows the confirmed cable-car reservation. Two-night stays in each main sightseeing base and a final night in Kunming help protect the easy pace before the departure flight.

Planning your journey
A comfortable pace, with realistic access
Short walks and seated breaks can be adjusted, but old-town paving, steps and scenic-area routes are not automatically step-free. Tell us about walking distance, luggage, lift access and bathroom needs before hotels are selected. Quiet rooms, lower floors or lift access and convenient vehicle pickup are requested rather than guaranteed without confirmation.
Choose one mountain plan
The classic day uses Spruce Meadow and selected Blue Moon Valley viewpoints. Yak Meadow or Glacier Park can replace it at a separately quoted cost, with higher altitude and different access. The 4,680-metre visitor platform at Glacier Park is optional and is not the mountain summit. A Baisha Old Town day can be requested instead.
Guide handovers and trains
Local English-speaking driver-guides handle touring and practical support in each destination. They do not automatically travel with you on the intercity trains. Transfers at both ends and English boarding instructions are provided. First-class availability and the exact services are confirmed when tickets are secured.
Hotels, drinks and other meals
Stay seven nights at selected comfortable hotels. Your final proposal names each hotel and room type; a “four-diamond” platform rating does not imply international four-star certification. Breakfasts, Xizhou tea tasting and one coffee or tea per guest at the scheduled pauses on days two, three, four and five are included. Lunch, dinner, extra drinks and desserts are separate.

Daily Itinerary
Meet your local English-speaking driver-guide after arrival at Kunming Changshui International Airport and transfer privately to the hotel. Keep the rest of the day free for check-in, rest and a gentle introduction to the city.
If you feel comfortable after the flight, take a short walk near the hotel. Your host can help you choose a nearby restaurant and explain milder Yunnan dishes. The day remains flexible to your arrival time and energy level.

After breakfast, enjoy a short walk around Green Lake Park and observe the city’s everyday rhythm. Return to the hotel for a midday rest before selecting a manageable section of Kunming’s old streets later in the day.
Pause for the included coffee or tea and end sightseeing early. Walks are divided into shorter sections with places to sit. Your driver-guide helps with local stories, menus and practical travel questions; extra drinks, pastries and meals are separate.

Take a private transfer to the station and board the confirmed first-class train to Dali. English boarding instructions are provided, and a local English-speaking driver-guide meets you at the arrival station.
After lunch and a hotel rest, explore a selected part of Dali Old Town at a comfortable pace. Finish with the scheduled coffee or tea stop. The afternoon walk can be shortened to suit your preferences; lunch and any additional refreshments are paid separately.

Visit Xizhou with your driver-guide to explore Bai architecture and neighbourhood life, then enjoy the arranged introduction to Bai three-course tea. Continue towards the western shore of Erhai Lake for selected easy walking stops.
Allow approximately 60–90 minutes for the planned lakeside coffee or tea pause, with time to sit and enjoy the view. This is a selective shore visit rather than a full circuit of the lake. Return to the same Dali hotel for the evening.

Travel by private vehicle from Dali to Lijiang, taking rest breaks along the way. Check in and pause at the hotel before a shorter old-town walk through lanes, timber-house streets and waterside corners.
Your local English-speaking driver-guide introduces Naxi culture and the Tea Horse Road background. Choose a route that avoids unnecessary climbing and slow down over uneven paving. Finish with the included tea or coffee pause in a quiet courtyard setting.

The classic plan includes the cable car to Spruce Meadow and selected Blue Moon Valley viewpoints, using scenic-area transport on the planned route. Keep the walking gentle, pause as needed and return to the hotel for rest without another scheduled evening activity.
Choose any replacement before cable-car reservations are made. Yak Meadow offers a higher meadow setting; Glacier Park is a substantially higher-altitude option, and its upper visitor platform is optional. Both are separately quoted alternatives. Baisha Old Town can replace the mountain visit if you prefer. Weather, ticket availability and personal suitability determine the final plan.

Check out after breakfast and transfer privately to Lijiang Railway Station for the confirmed first-class journey to Kunming. Travel independently between the two local receiving teams, with English boarding guidance and a station pickup in Kunming.
Settle into the hotel and keep the evening free for tea, rest and a dinner of your choice. This extra Kunming night separates the regional transfer from the following day’s international or domestic flight.

Enjoy breakfast before your private transfer to Kunming Changshui International Airport. Pickup follows your flight details and allows time for airport procedures.
