Why Choose This Slower Yunnan Route?
Stay longer at each base, keep arrival day free and choose a shorter walk when the family needs a break. Shangri-La is not part of this itinerary, and there is no scheduled Jade Dragon Snow Mountain excursion. The focus is city life, villages and cultural visits rather than a four-city mountain circuit.
Plan the Details for Your Family
- Rooms: share the children’s ages and your preferred bedding. We will check family or connecting-room availability before confirming a hotel.
- Walking: describe any difficulty with steps, uneven streets or long walks. We can discuss shorter routes and vehicle access.
- Meals: tell us about allergies, dietary needs and preferred meal times. The proposal will identify included meals and arrangements that need advance booking.
- Luggage: include suitcase numbers, pushchairs or mobility equipment so station transfers and vehicle space can be planned.
- Flexible day: choose a light Dali outing, a food experience or free time according to the group’s energy and the agreed services.

Daily Itinerary
Arrive in Kunming and take the private transfer included in the confirmed programme. Keep the day free to settle into the hotel, unpack and rest after the journey. An arrival-day outing is optional; this route deliberately starts with three nights in one city so children and older travellers have time to find a comfortable rhythm.
Visit Green Lake and Yuantong Temple with a walking route suited to the family, then choose a market or food stop according to interest. Leave room for seating breaks and a return to the hotel if needed. Discuss steps and uneven surfaces before the day starts so the guide can select the most practical approach.

Avoid treating the whole park as a compulsory circuit. Tell the guide when a rest is needed, and agree the turnaround point early enough to return to Kunming without a late finish.
Take the confirmed train to Dali and transfer to a hotel with vehicle access considered in advance. After checking in, choose between an easy old-town walk and time to rest. Confirm suitcase numbers, pushchairs or mobility equipment when booking so station transfers and the hotel approach suit the family's needs.

Continue to one selected section of the Erhai lakeside for a relaxed stop. A complete lake circuit is left out so there is time for meals, breaks and adjustments if the children or older travellers tire.
Choose a light Dali programme after considering the weather and the group's energy. Options within the agreed services include a Cangshan foothill outing, a food experience or free time. This flexible day is part of the slower pace, so there is no need to add a long drive simply to fill the timetable.

Pedestrian old-town lanes can add walking between the vehicle and accommodation, so a practical hotel location matters. Take a gentle orientation walk later only if everyone feels ready; the cultural visits continue tomorrow.
Use a private vehicle to reach Baisha for Naxi cultural interpretation and a relaxed meal. Keep the walking programme modest and agree any workshop or host visit in advance. Mountain scenery depends on the weather; the day focuses on village life and heritage, with no scheduled high-mountain cable-car excursion.
Transfer to Lijiang airport or railway station with the luggage assistance specified for your booking. Leave a comfortable margin for the hotel pickup and station or airport procedures. Share onward travel details before the itinerary is confirmed, especially if the family needs extra time for mobility equipment or children.
