6-Day Dali & Lijiang Pre-Wedding Tour

An easy old-town introduction helps you settle into the journey: walk a small loop among Dali's gateways and whitewashed streets, stop for tea and choose a relaxed dinner. Discuss whether you prefer candid walking portraits or more directed bridal compositions, then carry that visual idea through both destinations. Choose the preparation appointment around your actual arrival time, leaving the evening comfortable rather than treating the first day as an additional shoot.

Arrive in Dali and settle into your selected hotel. If photography is booked, meet the coordinator for fittings and review your preferred colour palette, poses and level of direction. Agree on one overall visual style even if different photographers will work in each city. Confirm how dresses, suits and accessories will travel between hotels and whether rentals can leave the original studio. Leave time for a quiet dinner and a short old-town introduction rather than a demanding arrival-day programme.

Travel and walking: Local arrival transfer, commonly 45–90 minutes depending on the hotel; short optional old-town walking.

Start with the broad lake-and-mountain setting, then shift to Xizhou's smaller architectural details for visual variety. Between approved photographic locations, your guide can explain Bai courtyard patterns and introduce a local snack stop. Set aside a seated lunch and a proper break so the afternoon does not become a continuous sequence of outfit changes. Finish with a short village-edge walk if the light, energy and agreed coverage allow it.

If a Dali session is booked, begin with hair, makeup and dressing before visiting approved Erhai lakeshore locations. Keep the shot list focused, allowing walks, garment changes and a meal break. Continue to Xizhou for selected lanes and Bai architectural details where photography is permitted. Private courtyards require consent and working fields are not open sets. Your team can adjust for light and wind. If photography is booked only in Lijiang, enjoy today as relaxed sightseeing with personal photographs. Return to your Dali hotel.

Travel and walking: Road transfers around Erhai's western side and Xizhou, with short walking sections; avoid a full-lake circuit.

When the day is free for sightseeing, visit a willing tie-dye host in Zhoucheng to see how tied patterns are coloured with indigo. A small hands-on piece can be arranged if the workshop confirms the session and drying time. Follow lunch with a gentle section of the western lake corridor or return for a cafe afternoon. The car meets you at permitted road access points. If a rescheduled shoot uses the day, reduce these activities instead of trying to do both programmes.

Keep this day deliberately adaptable. In settled weather, enjoy Dali Old Town or request a visit to Zhoucheng with a locally arranged tie-dye experience. Activities, workshops and extra guiding should be quoted before confirmation. If the previous day's session was disrupted, use part of today as a reserve only when your photographer, stylist and venues have agreed to that arrangement. A free day in the travel schedule does not automatically reserve the crew. Finish early enough to repack clothing and luggage for Lijiang.

Travel and walking: A Zhoucheng and lake outing typically needs around 1.5–2 hours of road travel; walking and workshop time are adjustable.

After breakfast, make the agreed hotel-to-hotel or rail connection north. Keep delicate garments in a practical travel cover and arrange help where an old-town hotel cannot be reached by car. In Lijiang, use the first walk to enjoy water channels, stone bridges and timber houses, followed by an early dinner. You can compare the two towns' atmosphere without making the transfer day depend on reaching a distant scenic attraction.

Transfer to Lijiang by the road or rail option selected in your proposal. Base the choice on current schedules, hotel locations, garment luggage and the photography team's movements. There is no full production session planned during the journey. After check-in, review the next day's weather and access information with your Lijiang coordinator. A short walk through the old town can help you choose the type of street setting you like, while leaving time for rest and any final fitting adjustments.

Travel and walking: Road or reserved rail connection with both local transfers; timings are confirmed against the chosen service and hotel access.

Give today's chosen setting enough time to tell a different visual story from Erhai. A Blue Moon Valley plan focuses on water, woodland and the mountain outlook; a Baisha plan uses stone lanes, village textures and a relaxed tea pause. If professional photography is not booked here, make Baisha the centre of a slower guided cultural visit, with a heritage stop when open. Keep a midday break in either version and return before the evening becomes tiring.

For a second commissioned shoot, choose one principal setting: currently open, commercially approved Blue Moon Valley points or an agreed Baisha and town location plan. This avoids trying to fit every landmark into a single day. Preparation, transport, admission procedures and breaks all count towards the schedule. A notice dated 22 May 2026 announced temporary maintenance affecting downstream Tingtao Lake; check current access before finalising locations. Cloud may hide the peaks, so agree on alternatives in advance. A glacier cable-car ascent is outside this portrait day.

Travel and walking: One main location plan; road travel, scenic access and walking are included in the day's timing, with no glacier ascent.

Spend your final morning close to the hotel, perhaps choosing a familiar canal-side breakfast spot or browsing a small craft shop. If you want a guided village visit to Yuhu or a deeper Naxi craft experience, add another night rather than attaching it to a tight departure. Before leaving, check borrowed items, luggage and the contacts for your image-selection appointment. Your trip finishes in Lijiang, making an onward connection to another city straightforward to plan separately.

Enjoy breakfast before departure. An image review may fit before the transfer if contracted; otherwise, selection and retouching follow the agreed remote workflow. Return borrowed clothing and confirm delivery contacts. The plan ends in Lijiang; returning to Dali or adding another destination requires a separate transport arrangement.
