Overview

4-Day Jingmai Tea Forest Walking Tour: Two full walking days between road transfers, staying in one mountain base. The emphasis is shade-grown tea and village connections, with a vehicle return after each outing.

For walkers comfortable with uneven paths. This is not an off-trail trek or a promise of a fixed distance in all weather.

Travel illustrations show the style of the journey, rather than actual customers or a guaranteed venue.

Route and overnight plan

Day Main plan Overnight
1 Jinghong to a mountain base Jingmai Mountain
2 A guided tea-forest walk Jingmai Mountain
3 Village paths and Mangjing context Jingmai Mountain
4 Return to Jinghong Departure

Make the experience fit your visit

Book the last road leg and a village pickup point together; an airport or county-town arrival is not arrival at the mountain guesthouse.

Decide before booking What to specify
Experience depth A tea tasting is easier to arrange than picking or a working production line. Hosts, fresh leaves and weather determine the hands-on options.
Walking and comfort Tell us about stairs, uneven paths, motion sickness, child seats and luggage. Ask the host about toilets and the nearest vehicle access.
Food and caffeine State allergies, vegetarian or halal requirements and caffeine limits. A local restaurant or tea host does not automatically meet a requested dietary standard.
If conditions change Move a wet-path walk to a village tea session. Cloud seas and harvest activity are possibilities, never fixed appointments.

What the enquiry covers

This is a customizable private itinerary proposal. Named regions and suggested visits describe the route; the written quotation identifies the available hosts, accommodation and services for your dates. A driver, an English-speaking guide and a specialist producer are different roles. Ask which are included on each day. There is no fixed departure or guaranteed group size on this page.

Request a price breakdown for vehicle and driver, guiding or interpretation, rooms, meals, admission, tastings and workshops. Optional purchases are your choice. Travel insurance, flights, trains and transfers outside the agreed route must be addressed separately; no insurance cover is implied by an itinerary description.

Daily Itinerary

Leave Jinghong with a daytime road transfer and reach your mountain lodging before the walking program begins. Agree the closest vehicle drop-off and luggage assistance in advance. Use the remaining daylight for a short orientation near the guesthouse rather than adding a distant village. Late arrivals require a shorter first afternoon or an extra gateway night.

Overnight: Jingmai Mountain.

Use an established visitor path in the Dapingzhang tea-forest area, adjusted to access and ground conditions. Discuss why tea plants grow beneath larger trees, stopping often to observe the landscape. Return for lunch and rest. A seated tasting provides a useful afternoon alternative when paths are wet; picking requires the grower’s specific permission.

Overnight: Jingmai Mountain.

Choose a local village walk around the Mangjing area with a guide who can explain the places you pass. Confirm the turning point and a vehicle collection point before setting out. Keep a flexible afternoon for Wengji or a second tea conversation, rather than trying to connect every village on foot. Sacred areas and homes are visited only when welcomed.

Overnight: Jingmai Mountain.

After breakfast, return by road to Jinghong. Leave any remaining forest walk out of the schedule when it would compress the transfer. Share onward ticket details before booking; a city-hotel drop-off is easier to coordinate than a tight flight connection. Carry tea purchases in sealed, labeled packaging and retain receipts for your own records.

Overnight: Departure.
