Daily Itinerary

Meet at your terrace-area hotel or at a confirmed point in Xinjie around midday. After lunch, visit Bada when visibility is promising and take a short village-edge walk on an established path. Your driver then takes you to the agreed accommodation. The itinerary assumes you are already in Yuanyang; arriving from Kunming on the same day would turn this into a different and much longer journey.

Overnight: Yuanyang terraces. Travel and walking: Local driving only; timing depends on your hotel location.

Leave early for Duoyishu and watch the light develop over the terraces. Return for breakfast, then enjoy a short guided village walk if conditions permit. Finish at your terrace hotel or agreed Xinjie drop-off around early afternoon. A transfer to Mengzi, Jianshui or Kunming is an additional arrangement and needs extra hours; it is not silently included in the local touring schedule.

No. The two-day product starts and ends locally in Yuanyang. Choose the five-day Kunming or four-day Mengzi route if you need the long-distance transport included in the itinerary.

Water-filled reflections are generally associated with the post-harvest and winter period, often roughly November to April. Individual fields follow farming needs and weather, so the whole landscape is not uniformly flooded. Summer brings growing rice and a different green appearance.

No. Mist, low cloud and rain can hide a viewpoint. Staying several nights gives more opportunities, and your guide adjusts the order where possible. We do not guarantee a particular colour, cloud layer or visibility.

The route uses accommodation in the terrace area, such as around Duoyishu or Shengcun, rather than the lower county town. The exact property, bathroom, heating and vehicle access are confirmed before booking.

A local guide selects established paths suitable for current conditions. Bunds can be narrow, muddy and part of working farms. Short viewpoint walks are available for travellers who do not want longer uneven paths; private fields are not treated as public trails.

Bring a rain cover, a warm layer for dawn, spare batteries and a stable tripod if you use one. Viewpoints can be busy, so keep walkways clear. Drone use is not included and requires current local permission and suitable conditions.
