Overview
Use Qingdao as the arrival and departure city for a six-day coastal circuit through Weihai and Yantai. Spend five nights in China: three in Qingdao, one in Weihai and one in Yantai. The route includes coast walks, old-town streets and brewing and wine heritage, with a separate full Qingdao day after returning from Yantai.

Route Map
Follow the itinerary in travel order.

Who this route suits
Choose this route to see the Shandong peninsula’s eastern coast without travelling inland to Jinan or Qufu. The scheduled stops do not include Penglai. If Penglai Pavilion or the Eight Immortals Crossing scenic area is a priority, request an additional or replacement day instead of assuming either is covered by a drive through the wider Yantai region.
Route and overnight plan
6 days in China · 5 hotel nights · Start: Qingdao · Finish: Qingdao.
| Day | Route and focus | Overnight |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Arrive in Qingdao | Qingdao |
| 2 | Qingdao to the Weihai coast | Weihai |
| 3 | Weihai to Yantai | Yantai |
| 4 | Yantai heritage and return to Qingdao | Qingdao |
| 5 | A full Qingdao city day | Qingdao |
| 6 | Depart Qingdao | Departure; no hotel night |
Comfort, meals and practical choices
Day two covers the largest outward movement and day four returns from Yantai to Qingdao. Coastal stops should be selected around the transfer, not used to promise an uninterrupted sightseeing day. The final plan should state driving and rest arrangements, the walking distance at each stop and the hotel’s actual location. Sea conditions can cancel boats and affect waterfront access. Use a land-based alternative rather than entering closed coastal areas. Main meals can remain independent, with any hotel breakfasts and agreed meals set out in the quotation. Wine and beer visits do not require drinking; advise the party’s ages and preferences beforehand. Seafood allergies, halal preparation and prayer arrangements should be handled as specific requirements, not inferred from a menu.
Price and the services to put in writing
Price on request. Send your dates, number of adults and children, visitor nationalities, arrival and departure details, preferred room arrangement and the amount of luggage. Tell Vero Trip about walking limits, wheelchair or stroller needs, dietary requirements and the language of explanation you need. We can use these details to discuss a suitable route and request a dated written proposal.
| Ask the proposal to identify | What to check |
|---|---|
| Hotels and meals | Actual properties, room types, hotel nights, breakfast count, named prepaid meals and meals payable separately. |
| Transport and guiding | Vehicle and luggage capacity, driver and guide arrangements, guide language, daily scope and any separate arrival/departure transfers. |
| Attractions and activities | Named admission tickets, interior visits, boats, performances, golf or workshop fees; optional items and operating restrictions. |
| Booking conditions | The receiving provider, passport/admission requirements, insurance scope, tips, payment schedule and cancellation terms for the actual services. |
Flights, trains, visas, personal travel insurance, shopping, alcoholic drinks and optional activities are separate unless the accepted proposal explicitly includes them. A suggested hotel style, stop or photograph does not establish a room, ticket or service reservation. Agency liability insurance, where offered, is different from personal travel insurance. Accept an itinerary change only after agreeing its effect on the route, nights, costs and booking conditions.
Frequently asked questions
Where is the Penglai visit?
There is no scheduled Penglai stop in this six-day sequence. Choose the eight-day Qingdao roundtrip with Penglai Pavilion, or ask for a revised version.
How many Qingdao nights are there?
Three: the arrival night and the final two nights after returning from Yantai.
Can we see swans in summer?
Do not build the holiday around a guaranteed swan sighting. Use village and coastal scenery as the plan and assess wildlife opportunities for the actual season.

Daily Itinerary
Settle into Qingdao and keep the evening flexible for the actual arrival time. Agree the meeting point and hotel before departure, especially when landing late. The first night is in Qingdao, so no cross-peninsula transfer is required immediately after the flight. International air tickets and their baggage rules require a separate booking unless explicitly included in a proposal.
Overnight: Qingdao.
Travel towards Weihai and select coastal stops around Rongcheng according to road conditions and daylight. Yandunjiao’s village setting and seaweed-roofed houses can be combined with Naxianghai or a shore view towards the Blueways wreck. Swan viewing is seasonal and not guaranteed. Keep out of closed shores and do not approach the wreck. Finish with a meal around Hanlefang if desired and stay in Weihai.
Overnight: Weihai.
Choose a manageable Weihai coastal route, with Maotoushan’s viewpoints, Haiyuan Park or Torch Eight Street among the possibilities. Any sightseeing bus needs the actual operating service and boarding points to be agreed. Continue to Yantai for Chaoyang Street and the night’s accommodation. Busy photographic streets work better as short walks than as fixed appointments for crowd-free pictures.
Overnight: Yantai.
Combine a selected Golden Beach whale-sculpture stop with Changyu Wine Museum and a Suochengli or Hongkou-area walk. A wine-blending activity is optional and requires a specific arrangement; it is not an assumed part of museum admission. Continue back to Qingdao, with Taitong food streets as a possible evening choice if the journey leaves time. Sleep in Qingdao.
Overnight: Qingdao.
Visit Tsingtao Beer Museum and select an old-town walk around Zhanqiao and Dabaodao. Keep room for breaks rather than adding every photogenic street or art building to the day. If an interior or exhibition is important, name it in the accepted programme and check the opening calendar. Spend the final night in Qingdao, keeping the next day’s departure straightforward.
Overnight: Qingdao.
Check out and continue to the agreed airport or railway station. No hotel night is scheduled. Tell the organiser about early flights and the exact amount of luggage so the departure plan is realistic. A final café or waterfront visit is possible only when it fits the confirmed reporting time, weather and transfer.
Overnight: Departure; no hotel night.
