Jianshui offers a different visual setting for a Yunnan pre-wedding journey: carved timber, tiled roofs, old-town lanes and the arches of Double Dragon Bridge. This five-day itinerary starts and ends in Kunming and gives you three nights in Jianshui, allowing time for a main portrait session and a separate countryside excursion.
The emphasis is on architectural details and an easy pace. Zhu Family Garden introduces the town’s courtyard heritage, while Tuanshan provides another view of the region’s residential buildings. These are living and managed cultural places. Ordinary sightseeing admission does not establish permission for a commercial bridal shoot, lighting equipment or exclusive use. A proposed photographer must confirm the exact locations and working arrangements in advance.
Choose a simple portrait style that suits narrow lanes and uneven stone paving, with comfortable shoes between photographs. Your quote can include a local team or accommodate your own photographer. Clothing, styling, edited images, production hours and delivery are separate items to agree. If permission for a particular courtyard is unavailable, retain it as a sightseeing visit and move the session to an approved alternative.

Your stay and travel rhythm
Stay one night in Kunming and three in Jianshui. Courtyard portraits have their own day, while Double Dragon Bridge and Tuanshan form a separate heritage outing. The longer town stay leaves room for local food, a prearranged pottery visit and evenings without repeated hotel changes.
The day-by-day programme below combines the destination visits with time for preparation, portraits and rest. Transfer estimates are planning allowances, not fixed arrival promises. Hotel categories, meals, guiding and photography services are itemised in your final quotation.

Daily Itinerary
Settle into Kunming with a light city introduction if time permits, choosing a short walk and dinner near the hotel. Your guide can help translate food preferences and introduce a simple Yunnan meal before the southbound journey. Review the Jianshui plan over a relaxed evening: architectural portraits, a bridge-and-village day and enough time to enjoy the old town. Any fitting appointment is arranged around the arrival rather than assumed after a late flight.
Take your arranged transfer to the Kunming hotel and rest after your journey. Keep the first evening flexible for a simple meal or a short nearby walk. Before travelling onward, review the booked photography arrangements, chosen style and luggage needs. Any rental outfit fitting should have a confirmed appointment and location; a fitting is not automatically available at your hotel.

Travel and walking: Local arrival transfer and optional short city walking; no long onward drive after a late arrival.
On arrival in Jianshui, have lunch and follow a compact old-town route around the historic streets and Chaoyang Tower area. Notice the contrast between busy everyday lanes and the quieter courtyard interiors. A food stop can introduce grilled tofu if it suits your diet, followed by tea and time to settle into the hotel. Keep the evening free to enjoy the town and finalise tomorrow's preparation appointment without rushing into a full shoot.
Travel to Jianshui by the rail or road option specified in your proposal, including the necessary hotel and station transfers. After check-in, explore a manageable section of the old town around its historic streets. This is an orientation day, giving you time to see the setting and prepare for the session without combining travel with a demanding production schedule.

Travel and walking: Around 3–3.5 hours by road from Kunming, plus breaks; reserved rail is an alternative with station transfers and current timings confirmed.
Choose a small number of complementary backgrounds for the portrait sequence: carved timber doors, stone paving and a calm courtyard composition. A seated lunch and preparation-room break divide the day. Zhu Family Garden adds a cultural visit when compatible with the shoot schedule, while the approved private venue or street locations host the commissioned portraits. End with time for a quiet old-town walk and dinner, keeping your final look and makeup comfortable through the afternoon.
Set aside the agreed window for makeup, changing and photography. Work only in locations approved for the proposed activity, whether a booked courtyard or suitable public lanes. Visit Zhu Family Garden as part of the cultural programme when timing allows. If the garden has not authorised commercial photography, enjoy it as a sightseeing stop and use the approved venue for portraits.

Travel and walking: Local transfers and short walks with steps; allow generous time for preparation and changing between the agreed locations.
Visit Double Dragon Bridge before continuing to Tuanshan for timber details, stone lanes and traditional courtyard architecture. Return towards town for lunch and, if booked, a short introduction to Jianshui's purple-clay pottery tradition. A hands-on activity depends on a host and drying or shipping arrangements. The heritage tourist train can replace part of the road outing when its actual timetable suits; it should not force the village visit into a hurried stop.
Explore Double Dragon Bridge and Tuanshan at a relaxed pace, using road transfers to keep the day flexible. The bridge's arches and the village architecture offer strong subjects for personal photographs. A Jianshui tourist-train journey can be requested instead when its current timetable and stops fit the plan. Never enter railway tracks or operating areas to stage a photograph.

Enjoy breakfast and a final nearby old-town walk only if the departure time permits. Keep room for packing and the journey north, with lunch or a comfort stop arranged around the chosen connection. An extra Kunming night makes sense when you want a calm city finish or have an early flight the next day. The return is a travel day, so a new major attraction is not added between Jianshui and your onward departure.
Return to Kunming with sufficient time for your onward journey. A late departure or extra city night provides useful protection against connection pressure. If you booked professional photography, image selection and delivery follow the supplier's written schedule and may continue online after travel. No same-day edited album or physical print collection is implied by the itinerary.
