Daily Itinerary
Meet at Xishuangbanna airport or the agreed railway station and transfer to your Jinghong hotel. Rest before a short riverside walk in the cooler evening if your arrival allows. The first day does not depend on reaching a distant attraction. Your guide confirms food preferences, the next morning’s meeting time and how much walking you would like in the tropical climate.
Overnight: Jinghong. Travel and walking: Usually 30–60 minutes of local transfer, depending on the hotel.
Travel to Menglun in the morning and use a selected botanical-garden circuit with official transport where useful. Focus on a few memorable plant shapes and textures rather than trying to see every collection. Stop for lunch and shade, then return to Jinghong with time for a quiet dinner. The road journey makes this the longest day of the short trip; an overnight near the garden can be added if preferred.
Overnight: Jinghong. Travel and walking: Allow 1.5–2 hours each way and a measured garden visit.
Visit a village with a local guide and a willing host, focusing on architecture, food and everyday life. A simple papermaking or other craft session is added only when the host confirms it for your date. Pause for lunch and return before the hottest part of the afternoon when practical. Ceremonies and water-splashing festivals are not treated as daily performances owed to visitors.
Overnight: Jinghong. Travel and walking: Selected village outing, around 1–2 hours of total driving.
Transfer to Xishuangbanna airport or the agreed railway station after breakfast at the appropriate time. The final night is in Jinghong so departure does not begin with a long rural drive. Confirm the actual train or flight, the meeting point and the carrier’s check-in margin in advance. Any cross-border continuation is a separate arrangement and not part of this domestic itinerary.
