Visit Songzanlin Monastery before driving to Nixi Tangdui village, known for its black earthenware. Meet a local potter when the workshop is open and look at the hand-shaped cooking pots and firing traditions. A workshop visit is part of the route; making and firing your own piece needs a separate arrangement. Return to Dukezong for a walk among its lanes and Tibetan-style houses, then continue to your Shangri-La hotel.

Travel from Shangri-La to Pudacuo, also called Potatso National Park. Explore the lake, forest and meadow scenery along the visitor routes open on your travel date. Shudu Lake is the main focus; the park shuttle links the sightseeing areas. After the park, visit a Tibetan household for a meal and conversation arranged with your hosts. Return towards Dukezong in the afternoon and walk up to Baiji Temple for views over the town before your hotel drop-off. Boat trips and access to individual park sections depend on the operating programme.
