Duration 10 Days
Route Kunming – Jianshui – Yuanyang – Pu’er – Jingmai Mountain – Jinghong
Entry City Kunming
Exit City Jinghong

Overview

This south Yunnan tour follows a workable north-to-south route rather than returning to Kunming after every stop. Rail is used where it saves time; a private vehicle covers the terrace and mountain sections that public transport handles poorly. Two nights at Yuanyang give weather flexibility, while Jingmai and Xishuangbanna add tea, rainforest and Dai cultural context.

Who this route suits

This is a private route for international visitors who value clear logistics, local interpretation and enough time at each base. Hotel level, walking distance and meal requirements are adjusted before the final quote.

Daily Itinerary

Airport or station transfer and a light central-city walk. Keep the first day flexible after the international journey.

Take a morning train to Jianshui. Visit the old town and Zhu Family Garden, then eat a local tofu dinner.

See Double Dragon Bridge and Tuanshan before the private road transfer. Choose the sunset area after checking cloud and visibility.

Use sunrise, village walks and terrace viewpoints in an order set by the weather. The day includes Hani cultural context, not only photography stops.

Travel south with a lunch and rest stop around Mojiang. This is the longest road day, so no major evening programme is added.

Visit a working coffee estate and Nakeli on the old trade route. Tasting and processing activities depend on the agricultural season.

Drive to Jingmai and settle into a village or mountain lodge. Walk through a tea landscape with a local host.

Spend the morning in the ancient tea forest and continue to Jinghong after lunch. The evening is free for the riverside food scene.

Choose one rainforest route and one well-arranged community or temple visit. Avoid combining distant parks in a single rushed day.

Private transfer to Xishuangbanna Gasa Airport or the railway station.
