Zhengzhou
Zhengzhou is Henan’s main air and rail gateway and the most practical hub for a wider Central Plains itinerary. Its strongest visits are Henan Museum, the Yellow River Cultural Park and the restored lanes of Fuminli, while Dengfeng, Luoyang and Kaifeng connect naturally by road or high-speed rail.
Why Visit Zhengzhou
Use Zhengzhou as more than an airport stop. Henan Museum gives essential context for the archaeological sites and dynastic capitals seen later in the journey. The Yellow River adds a landscape perspective, while Fuminli works well for an evening walk and local dining.
Best Time and Practical Planning
April to May and September to October usually bring the most comfortable touring weather. Summer is hot and can be rainy; winter is cold and dry. Allow one full day for the city itself, then continue to Dengfeng, Luoyang or Kaifeng with a private guide and vehicle.
