Overview

Quick Answer

4 days from Chengdu back to Chengdu. Muluozi and Chazigou camp nights.

Follow Changping Valley beyond Muluozi to a higher camp, then make a demanding out-and-back excursion toward the Changping–Bipeng pass. The route returns to Muluozi and leaves through Changping Valley, preserving the experience of the upper valley without claiming a full crossing into Bipeng. Three camp nights create a clear progression from wooded approach to high mountain terrain. verotrip confirms the pass objective and access close to departure.

Daily Itinerary

Leave Chengdu early and travel through the Wolong and Balang Mountain corridor to Mount Siguniang. Complete the outdoor-entry arrangements and take the permitted shuttle to the walking start near the monastery. Follow boardwalk and natural trail into Changping Valley, passing forest, streams and open meadow. Reach Muluozi camp, settle into the confirmed tent arrangement and enjoy the evening mountain setting.

Continue through the upper valley via Shuidaba and Wugui Rock. The trail crosses meadow and damp ground before reaching the higher camp area, where the setting becomes more open. Settle into the confirmed camp and prepare for an early start. Keep the day steady rather than rushing, as the following stage includes the pass ascent and a long return.

Overnight: Chazigou camp
Today’s pace: Approximately 12 km

Leave camp early for the ascent toward the Changping–Bipeng pass. Continue only if weather, access and the guide’s assessment support the attempt. The planned route reaches approximately 4,661 metres before descending by the same route to camp, then continuing down to Muluozi. Carry enough trail food and retain energy for the return; this is a long mountain day rather than a short viewpoint walk.

Overnight: Muluozi camp
Today’s pace: Approximately 22 km; pass ascent and long descent

Enjoy breakfast at camp and pack for the return walk down Changping Valley. Follow the approach route through meadow and forest, allowing time for food and rest without losing the agreed meeting schedule. Take the shuttle back to the valley entrance and regroup for the road journey to Chengdu. The transfer leaves after the walking party has safely returned, so arrival time is flexible.
