Daily Itinerary
Meet at the designated Chengdu location at about 11:00 and drive roughly 220 kilometers via Dujiangyan, Yingxiu and Wolong. Cross the Balang Mountain Tunnel and stop at Cat's Nose Viewing Platform when conditions allow. Reach Mount Siguniang Town at about 3,200 meters, check equipment with the guide and rest early.
After breakfast, enter Haizigou and trek via Dajianbao Protection Station to Dafeng Base Camp. The listed route is about 13 kilometers, usually takes 6-8 hours and gains roughly 1,100 meters. Reach base camp at about 4,300 meters for acclimatization and the confirmed tent or dormitory arrangement.
Wake before dawn for the guided summit attempt on Dafeng at 5,025 meters. Weather, snow, route conditions and fitness determine the turnaround time, and reaching the summit depends on conditions and fitness. Descend to base camp and the trailhead, then drive back to Chengdu; schedule onward travel for the following day.
