Overview
Start in Chengdu, fly to Nyingchi and spend a longer eastern Tibet stage in Bomi and Lulang before reaching Lhasa and Everest. Finish with a soft-sleeper railway journey to Xining and a flight back to Chengdu. The thirteen days include eleven hotel nights and one night on the train.
Choose thirteen days for Bomi blossom valley, the Ranwu/glacier outing and a Lulang overnight. These are the main additions to the eleven-day spring route. This itinerary does not include Namtso, and its longer duration should not be read as a slower version of every highland day.

The detailed daily programme below explains the visits and transfers. The sequence is adapted to actual reservations, road conditions and the permitted route. If a closure requires a different programme, the change and its cost implications belong in the agreed travel confirmation.
Spring flowers and the flight-and-rail combination
Plan this as a spring 2027 enquiry, with the departure date selected around the available services and expected local flower conditions. Nyingchi’s blossom season generally falls in March and April, but different valleys flower at different times. A festival opening day, peak bloom or a particular photographic scene is not guaranteed.
The Chengdu-based package includes the Chengdu–Nyingchi flight, the Lhasa–Xining soft-sleeper berth and the Xining–Chengdu flight. Your international or other travel to and from Chengdu is excluded. The written quote must identify the actual services, baggage allowance and transfer arrangements before tickets are issued.
The final day ends in Chengdu after the Xining connection. Do not buy a tight onward international flight from an example arrival time. If flight or train availability changes the connection, agree the revised calendar and any extra hotel night before accepting it. A scheduled soft-sleeper service is not a private charter train.

Accommodation and meals
| Location | Hotel nights | Comfort decision |
|---|---|---|
| Chengdu airport area | 1 | Confirm the actual room, bed arrangement, heating and bathroom. |
| Nyingchi | 1 | Oxygen supply is not promised for this regional stay; confirm the actual room facilities. |
| Bomi | 2 | Oxygen supply is not promised for this regional stay; confirm the actual room facilities. |
| Lulang | 1 | Oxygen supply is not promised for this regional stay; confirm the actual room facilities. |
| Lhasa | 3 | Confirm the actual room, bed arrangement, heating and bathroom. |
| Shigatse | 2 | Confirm the actual room, bed arrangement, heating and bathroom. |
| Everest area | 1 | Rongbuk or Everest-town location must be named; it changes the viewing journey. |
| Qinghai–Tibet Railway | 1 train night | Soft-sleeper berth in a four-berth compartment; no hotel night. |
Standard accommodation and an upgraded Lhasa option can be quoted. Hotel examples are not a guarantee of a particular property, official international star rating or room category. A mountain guesthouse or Everest-area hotel has different facilities from a city hotel. Agree the actual stay and oxygen arrangements rather than assuming every room has oxygen.
Hotel breakfasts are included after the relevant hotel nights. Lunches and dinners are separate except for the itemised welcome dinner, Nyingchi stone-pot chicken and Everest hot-pot benefits. Confirm how these meals are scheduled for your departure. Meals on the overnight train are separate.
Tell us about halal food, vegetarian preferences, allergies and prayer needs before booking. A Tibetan meal or hot pot is not automatically halal. Discuss acceptable alternatives, meal locations and time for prayer; this page does not promise certified halal kitchens or dedicated prayer rooms along the route.

| Personal insurance | Do not assume operator or vehicle liability cover includes your personal medical, evacuation or high-altitude risks. Request the actual policy and arrange suitable cover. |
Request the applicable insurance wording, insured persons, exclusions and assistance contact with the quote. Oxygen carried in a vehicle and hotel oxygen facilities are limited support, not a substitute for medical assessment or evacuation cover. Any photo experience, drone flight or extra activity must be expressly included and lawful; it is not added to this package merely because it is possible at a destination.

Before you book the highland journey
Have the receiving agency establish the required Tibet permissions for your nationality, entry basis and exact itinerary before buying non-refundable transport. China visa exemption, where applicable, does not replace Tibet travel approval. There is no guaranteed permit outcome or universal processing deadline.
Shigatse and Everest require route-specific arrangements. The August 2026 electronic border-permit notice concerns its specified document and area; it must not be treated as a complete description of foreign Tibet approvals or as permission to ignore road restrictions. The receiving agency must settle the actual travel documents and access before accepting the departure.
Obtain individual medical advice before travel. Altitude illness can affect fit travellers. Do not ascend to sleep higher with symptoms; seek help and descend if symptoms worsen. Bring warm layers, sun protection and manageable luggage, and discuss children’s ages, mobility, stairs and long road days before choosing this itinerary.
The Potala Palace notice provides for Monday closure from 21 September 2026, except statutory holidays. Reservations and current notices determine the actual visiting order. Weather and road conditions can also change mountain and lake visits; an alternative must fit the accepted itinerary and the traveller’s condition.
This is a visit to the designated Everest tourism area, not mountaineering or access to an expedition camp. The September 2026 attraction notice requires visitors to stay in designated areas and warns of snow and ice. It is a dated operating notice, not a guarantee for your travel day.

Daily Itinerary
Arrive in Chengdu and check in at the arranged airport-area hotel. Your international or other journey to Chengdu is separate from the package. Check which Chengdu airport your onward flight uses and agree the hotel meeting and airport arrangements. Keep the first evening simple before the flight into Tibet.
Stay: Chengdu airport area. Meals: Meals at your own expense.
Fly from Chengdu to Nyingchi Mainling Airport on the booked service. After the group meets, visit the planned Milin/Niyang valley and Gala blossom locations if arrival time and conditions allow, then settle into the Nyingchi hotel. Flowers vary across the valley and with the season. The final flight and meeting arrangements determine what can realistically be visited on arrival day.
Stay: Nyingchi. Meals: Hotel breakfast; other meals at your own expense except itemised complimentary meals.
Continue through the Tongmai corridor towards Guxiang Lake and the Bomi blossom valley. The planned village area includes Galang, Qingduo, Runa and Yuxu, with stops fitted to the day’s flowers, roads and access. This is the extended eastern section of the thirteen-day journey. Arrive in Bomi for the first of two nights rather than returning to Nyingchi.
Stay: Bomi. Meals: Hotel breakfast; other meals at your own expense except itemised complimentary meals.
Make the planned outing towards Ranwu Lake and a glacier visitor area, then return to Bomi. Laigu is the first proposed option, with Midui as the alternative when the operating arrangements require a change; both are not promised on the same day. Follow the authorised visitor paths and transport. Ice walking, climbing equipment and a glacier expedition are not included.
Stay: Bomi. Meals: Hotel breakfast; other meals at your own expense except itemised complimentary meals.
Leave Bomi after a visit around Galang Lake and continue towards Lulang’s forest viewpoints and village setting. Instead of treating Lulang as a brief roadside stop, this itinerary stays overnight there. Agree the guesthouse room and heating arrangements before booking, and pack a small overnight bag if that makes the check-in easier. The night adds a different pace to the eastern section.
Stay: Lulang. Meals: Hotel breakfast; other meals at your own expense except itemised complimentary meals.
Continue from Lulang towards Basum Tso and the planned spring village stops, then travel to Lhasa. The lake, Cuozong temple area and any blossom locations must fit the actual visitor access and road day. Laru village is a proposed flower stop, not a promise of peak bloom. Arrive in Lhasa for the cultural part of the journey.
Stay: Lhasa. Meals: Hotel breakfast; other meals at your own expense except itemised complimentary meals.
Visit the Potala Palace at the allocated appointment, then explore the Jokhang Temple and the lanes around Barkhor. There are steps, standing and walking at altitude, so discuss a lighter pace if needed. The order can change around reservations and the palace’s Monday closure, with statutory-holiday exceptions. Respect worshippers and follow the rules for photography inside religious buildings.
Stay: Lhasa. Meals: Hotel breakfast; other meals at your own expense except itemised complimentary meals.
Travel west from Lhasa through the Yamdrok Lake corridor, with a view of Karola Glacier on the journey towards Shigatse. This is a sightseeing transfer with substantial time on the road. Enjoy the lake and glacier from permitted visitor locations; glacier climbing and unrestricted access to ice are not part of this itinerary. Continue to the arranged Shigatse hotel.
Stay: Shigatse. Meals: Hotel breakfast; other meals at your own expense except itemised complimentary meals.
Continue through the Tingri area towards the permitted Everest visitor zone. Follow the required checkpoints and visitor-transport arrangements rather than assuming the touring vehicle reaches every viewpoint. The evening stay can be in the Rongbuk area or Everest town, as named in your confirmation. The location affects the following morning’s travel and viewing; a clear summit or sunrise is never guaranteed.
Stay: Everest area. Meals: Hotel breakfast; other meals at your own expense except itemised complimentary meals.
Use the morning for the permitted mountain-viewing programme if weather, access and the group’s condition allow. Then return through the Tingri corridor to Shigatse. A night in this region is a high-altitude stay, and oxygen facilities do not remove the need for an appropriate health plan. Tell the guide promptly if you feel unwell rather than waiting for the next scheduled stop.
Stay: Shigatse. Meals: Hotel breakfast; other meals at your own expense except itemised complimentary meals.
Visit Tashilhunpo Monastery in Shigatse before the drive back to Lhasa. Allow time to move through the courtyards and religious buildings respectfully, following the guide’s instructions and local photography rules. The return is a separate road stage. Keep your evening plans flexible and use the night in Lhasa to organise bags and the next day’s arrangements.
Stay: Lhasa. Meals: Hotel breakfast; other meals at your own expense except itemised complimentary meals.
Transfer to Lhasa railway station and board the booked Qinghai–Tibet Railway service towards Xining. The package specifies a soft-sleeper berth in a four-berth compartment; it does not promise a private compartment for your party. Train number, berth allocation and timetable belong in your confirmation. Views depend on daylight and weather, and onboard meals are a separate expense.
Stay: Train: soft-sleeper berth. Meals: Hotel breakfast; train meals at your own expense.
Arrive in Xining on the booked train, take the arranged station-to-airport transfer and fly to Chengdu. The journey ends in Chengdu. Use the booked train arrival and flight schedule when planning the connection, allowing for changes and delays. Allow an appropriate onward connection or a separately booked Chengdu night.
Stay: No overnight included. Meals: Meals at your own expense.
