A seven-day plan with two hotel bases
Choose this route for pandas, historic streets and riverside city scenery without a long high-altitude extension. Spend three nights in Chengdu and three in Chongqing. That leaves a full day for the panda visit, a separate Dujiangyan excursion and two Chongqing sightseeing days. It also makes meal planning simpler than moving to a new hotel every night.
| Choice | Recommended arrangement | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Panda visit | Chengdu Panda Base on Day 2 | Confirm the named venue and ticket; do not interchange separate panda centres. |
| Chongqing night views | One planned evening near the river | Keep dinner and prayer breaks before or after the viewing period. |
| Older travelers and strollers | Short walks, vehicle transfers and accessible hotel entry | City slopes and steps can still require a different viewing point. |
| Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong | Request a separate mountain extension before Chongqing | Add nights and discuss mountain access, altitude and transfers; they are outside this seven-day base plan. |
Book the right panda venue
The Chengdu Panda Base ticket information distinguishes its own ticket from Panda Valley in Dujiangyan. Tell us the exact venue you want, use the passport details that match the booking and keep them available at entry. A panda outing is observation at the centre; close contact, holding an animal or a particular sighting is not promised.
Halal dining needs a separate plan from Sichuan sightseeing
A famous snack street is useful for atmosphere, but it is not a substitute for an agreed meal. Hotpot broth, cooking alcohol, sauces and shared preparation deserve specific discussion. Ask for the restaurant arrangement, spice level and suitable options for children before the day begins. If an appropriate meal is away from the attraction, the transfer and eating time belong in the itinerary.
Chongqing on foot: plan the level, not just the distance
A riverside path, upper street and metro exit can be close on a map but connected by many steps. Give us the actual walking limit and whether you have a stroller or wheelchair. Choose one or two connected areas, with a known vehicle pickup point, rather than repeatedly crossing the city for photos. A shorter route with a seated break often makes the evening more enjoyable.
If you also want Jiuzhaigou or Huanglong
Ask for a longer Sichuan (四川) mountain version and specify which place is essential. It needs additional accommodation and ground transfers, and the timing depends on transport and scenic-area access. Huanglong also changes the altitude and walking demands. We will revise the whole sequence before quoting; these sites are not a free optional detour inside the seven days shown here.
Halal meals and prayer: agree the details before booking
Tell us whether you require certification, Muslim-operated kitchens, a particular meat standard, separate utensils or other conditions. These are different requirements. A pork-free menu, vegetable dish or hotel buffet is not automatically a suitable halal meal. Ask for each included breakfast, lunch and dinner to be identified in the proposal, including packed meals on travel days.
| Your requirement | What to put in the trip proposal | Why it changes the day |
|---|---|---|
| Halal meal standard | Named arrangements or the agreed supplier standard; ingredients and kitchen concerns | Restaurant location affects sightseeing and transfer timing. |
| Prayer and ablution | Suitable breaks, women’s access needs and a practical alternative when a mosque is not on the route | A mosque stop is not a promise of access at every prayer time. |
| Friday or Ramadan travel | Flag Jumu’ah, fasting, suhoor and iftar needs before dates are fixed | An early departure or long train journey may need a different sequence. |
| Children, allergies and older guests | Ages, allergies, walking limits and room layout | Spice preference is different from an allergy or halal requirement. |
Mosques are active places of worship. Entry, photographs and visitor spaces follow local arrangements. A guide can help coordinate the itinerary, but religious decisions remain with the traveler. Carry the personal items you need and discuss privacy, washroom access and rest breaks rather than assuming that every attraction has dedicated facilities.
What your quotation needs to include
This is an enquiry-based land itinerary. No dated seat allocation, fixed fare or minimum group size is displayed. A join-in proposal must state which services are shared, the operating language, pickup window, room basis and what happens if the departure does not reach its required participation. A private version can be quoted separately.
| Service | Confirm in writing | Budget separately unless listed |
|---|---|---|
| Hotels and transport | Named hotels or agreed equivalent; nights; room occupancy; train sectors and class; vehicle and luggage capacity | Room upgrades, single supplements and extra arrival or departure nights |
| Meals and visits | Exact meal count, halal arrangement, admissions, shuttles and cableway options | Optional shows, extra rides and meals outside the service list |
| Joining and leaving | First meeting location; final drop-off; airport or station transfers; late-arrival procedure | International flights, visas, travel insurance and independently booked onward travel |
| Payment and changes | Deposit, balance date, cancellation terms, supplier changes and minimum participation condition | Personal spending and changes requested outside the agreed route |
A low headline price is difficult to compare when it excludes a cableway, rail ticket, distant transfer or mandatory meal. Compare the written service list as well as the total.
Compare your other options
For mountain towns and lakes, compare Yunnan with Lugu Lake. For a longer historic westbound trip, see the 12-day Muslim Silk Road itinerary.
Ask About a Muslim Group Departure — send your month or date range, number of adults and children, arrival city, room preferences, halal requirements and must-see places. VeroTrip can then check a compatible group, realistic transfers and a written service proposal for your party.

Daily Itinerary

Meet the arrival transfer and settle into the hotel. Choose a gentle nearby walk if time permits, then have the first arranged meal. Before the first full day, discuss spice tolerance, halal kitchen requirements and prayer breaks with the trip coordinator. Keep a late flight arrival free of paid sightseeing commitments.
Overnight: Chengdu

Make the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding (成都大熊猫繁育研究基地) the main visit. This is a specific venue: Panda Valley and other centres in Dujiangyan have separate bookings. Plan a manageable walking loop and follow the site’s visitor rules; animal activity and visibility vary. After a meal and rest, choose an easy city walk instead of rushing straight to another distant attraction.
Overnight: Chengdu

Travel to Dujiangyan for the historic water-management landscape and old-town surroundings, then return to Chengdu. Decide on the walking route in advance if anyone finds steps or bridges difficult. A brief riverside visit can replace a long loop. This day does not include a second panda centre by default; adding one changes the admission, travel time and meal plan.
Overnight: Chengdu

Transfer to the departure station printed on your ticket and travel to Chongqing on the confirmed service. Include both hotel-to-station and station-to-hotel transport in the proposal. After checking in, take a short orientation walk near the hotel. Keep the first evening simple: Chongqing’s different street levels make a short distance on a map a poor guide to the actual walk.
Overnight: Chongqing

Choose a compact city route around Jiefangbei (解放碑), Chaotianmen (朝天门) and the riverside. Hongyadong (洪崖洞) works as a viewing stop, with the exact timing adjusted for crowds and weather. Use planned meal stops rather than relying on a snack street for halal dining. The Yangtze River Cableway (长江索道) can be requested as an optional experience, with its own ticket and operating conditions.
Overnight: Chongqing

Explore part of Ciqikou at a pace that leaves room for a seated meal, prayer and rest. Some lanes are stepped or crowded, so agree a short alternative and a clear meeting point. Use the afternoon for a museum, a neighborhood walk or free time according to the group’s interests and current access. Do not add Wulong (武隆) as a quick city detour; it needs a separate day and transfer plan.
Overnight: Chongqing

Allow time for the agreed airport or station transfer and formalities. Confirm the exact terminal or station before arranging pickup. A last-minute shopping visit is only sensible if the departure window supports it. If you want to continue to Yunnan (云南) or Xi’an (西安), ask for the extra connection and accommodation in a separate extension proposal.
