Hotel-based does not mean low altitude or effortless walking. Several days combine driving with substantial hikes, and the Day 4 overnight may be Litang or Yajiang depending on the confirmed exit timing.

Daily Itinerary
Travel west through Kangding and the Xinduqiao corridor toward Yajiang. A stop at the Heishicheng viewpoint is considered when the road, weather and timing allow. The day introduces the broad transition from the Sichuan basin to the highlands without adding a long hike. Settle into the hotel and prepare for the next day’s transfer into Genyen.

Today’s pace: Approximately 7–8 hours by road

Continue via Litang into the Genyen area, crossing high road passes before reaching the village landscape. Visit the permitted walking areas around Genyen Heart and Genyen Eye, enjoying the different shapes and mountain settings of the small lakes. Keep to established paths and follow local guidance. Return to Genyen Town for the night.

Today’s pace: Road transfer plus approximately 7 km walking

Visit the accessible monastery area, then walk toward the pasture and the landmark known as the Lone Tree. The route climbs from the valley toward open ground beneath the massif, with snow peaks and meadows changing through the day. Descend toward Zeba Village for the night. The guide can adjust the walking objective if weather or access changes.

Today’s pace: Approximately 10 km; substantial ascent

Walk through forest and open pasture toward the Hangda and southern-slope scenery. Continue on the confirmed line through the meadow landscape to the road pickup, then transfer via the Reti area toward Litang or Yajiang. Seasonal flowers and mountain visibility vary, but the combination of walking and village country gives the day its character.

Today’s pace: Approximately 10 km walking plus substantial road transfers

Leave the confirmed overnight town and travel back through the Kangding corridor to Chengdu. The final drive is a full day, with stops arranged around traffic and road conditions.
