Daily Itinerary
Meet in Golmud, check into the hotel and go over the climbing plan with the team. Use the briefing to discuss recent altitude exposure, mountain experience and any changes needed to the ascent schedule. Check the equipment list carefully, including boot compatibility, insulation and sleeping system, so missing items can be addressed before leaving the city.
Overnight: Golmud hotel
Today’s pace: Arrival and equipment preparation

Travel south from Golmud into the Kunlun approach and stop at Xidatan for the next overnight stage. Keep the day’s activity gentle while the team checks how participants are responding to the gain in sleeping altitude. The road journey introduces a much more open plateau landscape, with the higher mountain objective still ahead.
Overnight: Xidatan guesthouse
Today’s pace: Approximately 3 hours by road

Continue through the Kunlun Pass area to the confirmed mountain-base accommodation. Organize climbing equipment, discussion camp routines and confirm the route ahead with the guides. The base is high, so extra nights may be required here or earlier in the journey. The published sequence remains flexible until the team accepts the party’s acclimatization and the weather window.
Overnight: Mountain-base accommodation
Today’s pace: Road transfer; base area around 4,700 m on the planned route

Make a supervised practice outing from the base. Work on the equipment and movement skills required by the operating team, then return to the same accommodation rather than immediately moving higher. The session is for checking readiness and equipment performance as well as experiencing the terrain. An additional practice or rest day may replace progress to high camp.
Overnight: Mountain-base accommodation
Today’s pace: Supervised glacier practice; return to base

Pack for the high camp and ascend with the mountain team at a measured pace. The planned route places C1 at about 5,600 metres, making this a substantial step that depends on successful acclimatization. Settle into the tents, eat and rest. The guide confirms whether a summit attempt is appropriate; reaching C1 does not commit the party to climbing higher.
Overnight: C1 tents
Today’s pace: Approximate approach about 4.5 km; high-altitude ascent

Attempt the summit only within the guide’s weather and turnaround limits. The climbing objective is Yuzhu Peak at 6,178 metres. After the attempt, descend through the camps, recover equipment and return to Golmud when transport and conditions permit. The combined mountain and road day is exceptionally long; retain contingency nights and avoid booking an onward connection that evening.
Overnight: Not included; Golmud night recommended
Today’s pace: Summit attempt, major descent and road transfer
