Daily Itinerary
Arrive in Chengdu and settle in before the overland journey begins. Depending on arrival time, explore a neighborhood food street, a traditional teahouse or another low-key city experience. The day is intentionally light so the group can rest and prepare for the road ahead.
Leave Chengdu for the mountain valleys of western Sichuan. Visit Shuangqiao Valley at Siguniang Mountain when access and weather allow, then continue toward Danba and Jiaju Tibetan Village. Expect a full road day with changing terrain and scheduled scenic stops.
Begin with the architecture and hillside setting of Jiaju Tibetan Village. Continue through the landscapes around Moshi Park and Tagong Grassland before reaching Xinduqiao. A sunset viewpoint may be included when road, weather and timing remain suitable.
Cross highland roads toward Litang, one of the best-known towns on the western Sichuan plateau. Continue through the Haizi Mountain landscape and Daocheng to Shangri-La Town near the entrance to Yading. This is one of the longest driving days, so the final stop sequence stays flexible.
Explore Daocheng Yading according to weather, altitude conditions and park transport arrangements. Typical options focus on Chonggu Monastery, Pearl Lake or the lower section of Luorong Pasture rather than promising every high-altitude viewpoint. Continue to Xiangcheng for the night.
Follow the mountain road toward the Jinsha River crossing and Markam, entering Tibet on the designated itinerary. The day combines changing valleys, road viewpoints and the transition from western Sichuan into eastern Tibet before reaching Rumei.
Travel through the Lancang River valley and across the high-pass area around Dongda Mountain. Continue via Zogang and the celebrated switchbacks above the Nujiang gorge before arriving in Basu. Stops depend on traffic, road safety and pass conditions.
Cross Anjiula Mountain toward Ranwu Lake, where snow peaks and changing water levels shape the view. Continue to Midui Glacier when access is open, then follow the valley road to Bomi. Walking distance and viewpoint access are adjusted to local conditions.
Continue through the greener landscapes of eastern Tibet, passing Tongmai and the Lulang area. Cross Sejila Pass when open and descend toward Nyingchi. Clear weather may reveal distant mountain views, but the route remains worthwhile for its forests and river valleys.
Visit Basumtso and its forested lake setting before continuing along the Nyingchi-Lhasa road. Arrive in Lhasa and allow time for a gentle evening. The sequence may be adjusted if lake access, permits or road conditions require a different timing.
Explore Lhasa with a designated local guide. The usual plan includes the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Street, subject to ticket allocations and local regulations. Keep the pace steady and allow time for security checks, steps and altitude adjustment.
The group journey ends after breakfast or at the agreed departure time. Airport or railway-station transfers can be arranged according to the confirmed service list. Add extra nights in Lhasa only after checking permit and onward-transport requirements.
