13-Day Mount Kailash, Kyirong & Kathmandu Group Tour
Overview
Follow a thirteen-day journey from Lhasa through the Everest area and Saga to Mount Kailash, completing the three-day kora and visiting Lake Manasarovar before continuing to Nepal. The route finishes in Kathmandu through the Gyirong border corridor.

Duration: 13 days. Route: Lhasa – Shigatse – Everest Base Camp – Saga – Mount Kailash – Lake Manasarovar – Gyirong – Kathmandu.
This trip combines demanding high-altitude walking with an international border crossing. Confirm trekking support, overnight facilities and the Tibet-to-Nepal handover in the dated proposal. The border and road programme must be checked before booking a Kathmandu departure, with time available if crossing conditions change.

Daily Itinerary
Upon arrival in Lhasa, our tour guide will meet you at the airport/train station and take you to hotel in Lhasa. In the rest of the day, please rest well and adapt to the altitude.
Visit the Drepung Monastery in the morning, in the afternoon, visit the Sera Monastery and watch the monks’ debate activities.
Visit the Potala Palace, and participate in local Tibetan folk activities in the Local Park under the palace; Visit the Jokhang Temple and Barkor Street. Having tea the sweet tea house to experience Tibetan social culture.
Depart from Lhasa and head west to Gyantse, pass by Yamdrok Lake, visit a rural family by the lake and enjoy farm lunch. Visit Karola Glacier and Gyantse Bally farm land.
Head to the Himalayas after visiting the Tashilunpo Monastery in Shigatse. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of Mount Everest and the Himalayas at the Dingri View point and the Gawula View point. Enjoy the beautiful sunset of Mount Everest (subject to weather conditions).
From Everest Base Camp to Saga, the entrance town of the Ali Plateau, enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Himalayan snow-capped mountains and Pekutso Lake and Shishapangma peaks along the way.
The Ali Plateau with an average altitude of more than 4,000 meters will bring you broad grassland pastures, Himalayas and Gangdise Snow Mountains. On the way, you will pass several beautiful small lakes and finally see Manasarovar lake and Mount Kailash.
We take bus from Tarchen to Seshong to participate in the Sagadawa Festival blessing activities. Afterwards, walk along the valley at the southeastern foot of Mount Kailash to reach Driapuk Monastery. From Driapuk, you can see the huge straight rock face on the west side of Mount Kailash.
The day’s trekking will be very challenging. Starting from Driapuk, we hike up two steps to reach the highest point Dromala Pass 5630m. After passing through Mercy Lake and the rocky area, we go down to the Dzultripuk Monastery in the southeastern valley of Mt. Kailash.
Walk back to Tarchen from Dzultripuk. If you feel tired, you can take a sightseeing bus to reach the ending point – Darchen, which is also the beginning of the Kailash Kora. In the afternoon, we proceed to Lake Manasarovar for sightseeing. At the sacred lake of Lake Manasarovar, you will spend delightful moments, engaging in activities such as trekking, cleansing your body with the holy water, or performing your own religious rituals.
After the trip to Kailash and Manasarovar, drive eastwards back to Saga.
Take a bus from Saga to the lowest altitude place in Tibet, Gyirong Valley surrounded by snow-capped mountains and forests. In this way, you will not only go to Mount Everest, the highest point in Tibet, but also the lowest point in western Tibet. In the afternoon, your tour guide will take you to visit Pabalakhang, Jeep Village and hike to Padmasambhava’s Caves.
Continually drive 20 kilometers to the China-Nepal border. The tour guide will arrange a jeep to escort you from the Nepal border to Kathmandu. On the 130-kilometer mountain road, you will descend from the edge of the Himalayas at 2,800 meters to the Kathmandu Valley, enjoying the scenery along the way. The beautiful scenery of snow-capped mountains and forests at the southern foothills of the Himalayas.
