Overview

Extend a Lhasa-to-Everest journey through northern Tibet’s grasslands and lakes on a ten-day circuit. After Shigatse and the Everest area, the route passes Seling Tso and Bange before reaching Namtso and returning through Damxung to Lhasa.

The northern lake section adds remote road travel and higher overnight environments to the Everest programme. Ask about accommodation, facilities and the longest driving days before joining. Upon arrival in Lhasa, our tour guide will meet you at the airport/train station and take you to hotel in Lhasa. In the rest of the day, please rest well and adapt to the altitude.

Though the drive today covers a considerable distance, smooth roads and light traffic make the journey feel surprisingly swift. If opportunity arises, you may even visit a local nomad’s tent and experience the local daily life of a herding family. Amid the vast Tibetan wilderness, watch for the graceful Tibetan antelope roaming the open plains and the elegant black-necked cranes soaring across the skies.

Today, you will enjoy panoramic views of Namtso from the mountain pass and hike around Tashido Island on the shores of Namtso Lake. Later in the afternoon, return to Damxung.
