Meet the driver at Chengdu Airport or railway station and transfer to the hotel. Keep the rest of the day free to recover from the journey; transfers from Tianfu Airport should be confirmed separately for the chosen departure.
Start at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, then continue to Sanxingdui Museum for its Bronze Age discoveries. Finish with a Sichuan Opera face-changing performance and gaiwan tea in the evening.
Visit the creative district at Dongjiao Memory and walk through Kuanzhai Alley before continuing to central Chengdu. The evening hot-pot experience is arranged around current operating availability, with a restaurant alternative if the bus service is not running.
Drive about 3.5 hours from Chengdu to Chongqing. After arrival, cross the Yangtze by cableway and continue through Baixiangju, Chaotianmen, Jiefangbei and Hongya Cave for an introduction to the city's steep, layered center.
Begin at Huguang Guild Hall, then see Chongqing's vertical cityscape from Eling and the Liziba monorail viewpoint. Continue to Ciqikou Ancient Town for old lanes, teahouses and local snacks.
