Overview
Join western and northern Sichuan in one eight-day road journey. Yuzixi, Litang and Daocheng Yading lead into Moshi Park and Mount Siguniang, followed by Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong. Seven hotel nights connect the regions, including a transition night around Dujiangyan or Chengdu. Expect a busy highland schedule with driver accompaniment and independent park visits.

Before You Book
The local food experience listed below is included once; its timing is arranged with the group. All other meals are at your own expense. All scenic-area admission, compulsory scenic buses, cableways, electric carts and local viewpoint transfers are additional.
These are full travel days with early departures and long mountain-road transfers. Arrive in Chengdu the day before departure and book onward flights or trains for the day after the tour. The departure point, meeting time and hotel areas are confirmed before travel. A joining day or extra Chengdu hotel night is not included.
Altitude and Walking
The route reaches high-altitude areas and can rise quickly from Chengdu. Discuss suitability and any additional acclimatisation nights with a qualified healthcare professional before booking. Do not ascend higher when you have altitude-illness symptoms; tell the driver and seek appropriate assistance. The driver does not provide mountain rescue or medical care. Carry warm layers, sun protection, sturdy footwear, water and personal medication.
At Yading, the long route beyond Luorong Pasture to Milk Lake and Five-Color Lake is optional, demanding and subject to seasonal opening. Shorter open routes are available for a less strenuous visit. The high lakes are not a guaranteed year-round inclusion.
Accommodation, Language and Group Arrangements
Hotels are arranged in the listed overnight areas, subject to availability, with twin rooms as the normal arrangement. Local hotel standards vary. This is a shared group with one seat per traveller; seats are not reserved in advance. Bring one manageable suitcase, preferably no larger than 24 inches, plus a small daypack.
The included service is driver accompaniment, without professional sightseeing commentary. English-language guiding can be requested and quoted separately before booking. Provide passport nationality, participant ages, mobility needs and any dietary requirements when enquiring so participation, accommodation and insurance eligibility can be checked.
Scenic-area access, road controls, weather and traffic may require a change in the sequence or an agreed alternative viewpoint. Clear mountain views, sunset colours and drone photography are not guaranteed. Review the written quotation, included services and cancellation terms before making payment.

Daily Itinerary
Leave the agreed Chengdu meeting point early and travel through Kangding to the plateau. Continue along the permitted airport-road route toward Yuzixi. From the viewpoint, look toward the surrounding snow ranges if visibility allows; sunset colours are never guaranteed. Local viewpoint transfers and cleaning fees are paid separately. If Yuzixi is inaccessible, the group agrees an available alternative viewpoint before continuing to the hotel.

Continue west through the mountain-road bends toward Litang. Pause in the Letong old-town area to see the plateau town’s streets and Tibetan architecture; museum or local shuttle charges are additional if you choose to enter. Cross the open highland landscapes around Tu’er Mountain before reaching Shangri-La Town, also known as Riwa, near Yading. This is a long driving day, with stops adjusted to weather, traffic and safe roadside access.

Spend the day inside Yading, using the compulsory scenic bus and, if desired, the separately paid electric cart toward Luorong Pasture. Choose walks according to the open routes and your response to altitude. Chonggu and the meadow routes offer a shorter visit; Milk Lake and Five-Color Lake require a considerably harder high-altitude walk and are optional, subject to opening. Do not continue upward if unwell. Return to the hotel area after leaving the park.

Leave Daocheng and travel across the plateau via the Litang and Xinduqiao corridor toward Tagong and Moshi Park. The change from broad highland roads to the park’s dark rock formations gives the day its focus. Park admission and the scenic shuttle are additional. Allow flexibility for this long road section, keeping stops within available daylight and safe road access. Continue toward Bamei or Danba for the night.

Travel into the Mount Siguniang region and visit Shuangqiao Valley, usually allowing around four hours for scenic buses and walks between open stops. Admission and the park bus are separately paid. Continue east after the visit to Dujiangyan or Chengdu for the transition night between the western and northern portions of the tour. The overnight location and next morning’s meeting arrangements are confirmed before departure; this is not an additional free day.

Travel north through the Min River valley, with short stops around Diexi Lake and Songpan as the route, traffic and daylight permit. Enjoy the changing valley scenery and the historic town walls before continuing toward Jiuzhaigou. This is mainly a connecting road day rather than a full Dujiangyan sightseeing visit. Reach accommodation near the Jiuzhaigou entrance and agree the next day’s meeting arrangements with the driver.

Set aside a full day, usually about eight hours, for Jiuzhaigou’s open valleys. Combine the park buses with walks on designated boardwalks, choosing stops around the lake, forest and waterfall scenery. The driver remains outside the scenic area, so agree the meeting time before entering and keep track of the last bus. Admission and park transport are additional. Return to the same hotel area after the visit.

Leave early for Huanglong and spend approximately four hours exploring its open travertine-pool routes. Cableway operation and walking access depend on the season and weather; tickets, cableway rides and any internal transfer are separate expenses. The paths include steps and high-altitude walking, so select a realistic turnaround point. Continue through the Min River valley to Chengdu, aiming for an evening metro drop-off. Book onward travel for the next day.

Accommodation

Driver accompaniment
The driver coordinates transfers and meeting points. Professional sightseeing guiding and English-language guiding are not included; the driver does not enter scenic areas with the group.
Group essentials
One portable oxygen canister and a neck-pillow, earplug and eye-mask set. These are comfort supplies and do not replace an altitude plan or medical treatment.
Basic accident policy
Basic group accident cover is subject to the insurer’s eligibility rules and policy terms, which must be checked before booking. Horse riding and motorcycling are outside the supplied policy’s stated cover. Arrange suitable personal insurance for your nationality, altitude and chosen activities.
