Travel Arrangements

The six route days start and end in Chengdu. Choose whether to use the complimentary Chengdu night before departure or after the return. Hotel quality varies by town; select the actual accommodation option before booking. The extra Chengdu night does not create a seventh sightseeing day.

Accommodation and Meals

Hotel rooms normally accommodate two adults. Choose the accommodation option before booking; a single supplement applies for sole use or when a suitable room share cannot be arranged. The final hotel list and room arrangement are set out in your quotation. Accommodation categories are not a promise of a particular official star rating. Meals follow the daily plan and the included-service list below.

Guiding and Language

The driver handles transport coordination and basic assistance, rather than continuous professional sightseeing guiding. Any local leader or interpretation session specifically included below has its own service scope. English-language service is not included by default. Request it in advance for a separate availability check and quotation; a separately arranged group may be required.

Walking and Altitude

This is a high-altitude road circuit with long driving days and two nights near Yading. Upper-lake walks at Yading are strenuous and seasonal. Plan an appropriate pre-trip altitude strategy and choose shorter open trails when needed.

Discuss the altitude and walking with a qualified healthcare professional before booking. Do not continue higher when altitude-illness symptoms occur; tell the driver and seek appropriate assistance. Portable oxygen supplies or hotel oxygen facilities do not replace preparation or medical care.

Experiences, Access and Conditions

The two photo sessions have different allowances: six edited images in Litang and three at the ranch. Extra images cost more. Riding, local cultural activities and viewpoints depend on operating conditions and participant suitability.

Scenic-area admission, compulsory shuttles and optional local transport are additional unless expressly included. Reserve applicable timed-entry tickets for the agreed dates using the appropriate passport details. Opening, road controls, weather and operator schedules may change the sequence or require an agreed alternative. Confirm the dated inclusions, participant eligibility and cancellation terms before payment.

Meadows and mountain scenery in Shuangqiao Valley.

Start early from the agreed Chengdu pickup area and travel toward Mount Siguniang. Pause at Maobiliang if the weather allows a mountain view, then continue for lunch at your own expense. Spend around four hours exploring Shuangqiao Valley by shared shuttle and selected boardwalk walks. Continue through the mountain-road corridor toward Danba for the first night. Roadworks, entry reservations and holiday traffic can require a change in departure time or the order of stops.

Overnight: Danba
Meals: Meals at your own expense

Yala Mountain above a forested valley
Yala Mountain above a forested valley.

Travel onto the plateau toward the Yala viewpoint and Moshi Park, allowing time to explore the dark rock formations independently. Continue to Gunong for the included drink stop in a mountain setting. Head toward Yuzixi only when the road, weather and local controls permit; clear peaks and golden evening light cannot be guaranteed. Descend toward Yajiang for the night. The complete day includes several stops and can finish late, particularly around Xinduqiao in busy periods.

Transfer to Yading’s entrance and enter using your separately purchased admission and compulsory shuttle. Choose the shorter Chonggu Temple and Pearl Lake area, or an outing toward Luorong Pasture. Continuing to Milk Lake and Five-Color Lake is a demanding high-altitude option, possible only when the upper trail is open and your condition permits. Internal electric carts and any riding are extra. Agree a turnaround and return-shuttle time before walking, then return to the same hotel town.

Overnight: Shangri-La Town / Riwa, second night

Highland grassland on the Daocheng–Litang road corridor

Continue to the white-stupa area before the long return road stage. The route crosses highland scenery and the Tu’er Mountain area, with short stops only where the road and weather allow. Lunch is at your own expense. Reach Xinduqiao for the final route hotel night, keeping the evening restful after a substantial day of travel.

Follow local customs and ask before photographing people or religious activity. Return toward Chengdu by the S434 road, with a Honghaizi viewpoint stop if conditions permit.
