Travel Arrangements

The route has four hotel nights, plus one complimentary Chengdu night outside the five core days. Choose the extra night before departure or after the return. The confirmed final drop-off is Shuhan Road East metro station; airport transfers must be requested and quoted separately.

Accommodation and Meals

Hotel rooms normally accommodate two adults. Choose the accommodation option before booking; a single supplement applies for sole use or when a suitable room share cannot be arranged. The final hotel list and room arrangement are set out in your quotation. Accommodation categories are not a promise of a particular official star rating. Meals follow the daily plan and the included-service list below.

Guiding and Language

The driver handles transport coordination and basic assistance, rather than continuous professional sightseeing guiding. Any local leader or interpretation session specifically included below has its own service scope. English-language service is not included by default. Request it in advance for a separate availability check and quotation; a separately arranged group may be required.

Walking and Altitude

This is a remote high-altitude road trip, with a night in Litang at roughly 3,900 metres and time on higher roads. An oxygen-supplied room does not remove altitude risk. It is not a relaxed low-altitude family outing, even though several stops involve only short walks.

Discuss the altitude and walking with a qualified healthcare professional before booking. Do not continue higher when altitude-illness symptoms occur; tell the driver and seek appropriate assistance. Portable oxygen supplies or hotel oxygen facilities do not replace preparation or medical care.

Experiences, Access and Conditions

The Genyen crossing depends on the condition and permitted use of the road. The local operator may adjust or replace inaccessible sections. Afternoon tea, clear views and the timing of the Litang photo session remain subject to operating conditions.

Scenic-area admission, compulsory shuttles and optional local transport are additional unless expressly included. Reserve applicable timed-entry tickets for the agreed dates using the appropriate passport details. Opening, road controls, weather and operator schedules may change the sequence or require an agreed alternative. Confirm the dated inclusions, participant eligibility and cancellation terms before payment.

Daily Itinerary

Snow mountains and open water at Honghaizi Lake
Snow mountains and open water at Honghaizi Lake.

Meet in Chengdu and travel west, with a rest stop in the Tianquan corridor. This is a road-service stop, not a live-panda visit. Continue through Kangding to the S434 mountain road and Honghaizi viewpoint. Visit Yuzixi only if weather, road access and local fire controls allow. Evening colours are not guaranteed, and an alternative or omitted viewpoint may be necessary. Continue to Yajiang for the first night after a long road day.

Overnight: Yajiang
Meals: Meals at your own expense

Lake and alpine meadow scenery in Cuopugou
Lake and alpine meadow scenery in Cuopugou.

Travel through the Maoya Grassland corridor toward Cuopugou, making brief road stops where permitted. Explore the available lake, meadow and monastery surroundings using the scenic area’s operating access arrangements. Admission and internal sightseeing transport are paid separately. The pace of walking can be adjusted within the agreed return time, but the road stage still makes this a substantial day. Continue to Batang for the second hotel night, with dinner at your own expense.

Overnight: Batang
Meals: Complimentary hotel breakfast where available and timing permits; lunch and dinner at your own expense

The circular pool and grassland at Genyen Eye
The circular pool and grassland at Genyen Eye.

Start early for the remote southern Genyen road corridor. The planned sequence includes the Bomi Township corridor, Hangda area, New Lenggu Monastery and Genyen Eye, with local village scenery and the included afternoon tea along the way. Weather, road condition and local controls govern the stops and whether the planned crossing can operate. Continue over the available pass route toward Litang. Settle into the oxygen-supplied room and coordinate the included Renkang Old Street photo session with the local operator.

Overnight: Litang, oxygen-supplied hotel room
Meals: Complimentary hotel breakfast where available and timing permits; lunch and dinner at your own expense; afternoon tea included

Stone formations in Moshi Park
Stone formations in Moshi Park.

Leave Litang for the return road stage, passing the Tianlu Eighteen Bends viewpoint where stopping is possible. Continue through the Tagong plateau, looking toward Yala Mountain if visibility allows. Explore Moshi Park’s dark stone formations independently before driving toward Danba. Several mountain-road sections and sightseeing stops make this another full travel day. The final route hotel night is in Danba, where the lower elevation differs from the preceding night in Litang.

Overnight: Danba
Meals: Complimentary hotel breakfast where available and timing permits; lunch and dinner at your own expense

Meadows and mountain scenery in Shuangqiao Valley
Meadows and mountain scenery in Shuangqiao Valley.

Travel toward Mount Siguniang and allow about four hours for Shuangqiao Valley, combining the compulsory shared shuttle with boardwalk walking. Stop at Maobiliang if conditions permit a final mountain view, then continue to Chengdu. The group finishes at Shuhan Road East metro station, normally in the evening and possibly later in heavy traffic. Airport transfers are a separate enquiry. Do not book a same-day onward flight or train; arrange it for the following day.
