Fitness, Altitude and the Final Day
This is a strenuous high-altitude climb, with rough ground, possible snow and ice, a rapid move from the village to a high camp and a very long final descent. The summit is approximately 5,396 metres. Arrange appropriate acclimatisation before these three core days and discuss suitability with a qualified healthcare professional and the mountain team. The guide can stop or turn the attempt around for conditions or participant wellbeing.
Do not ascend higher when experiencing altitude-illness symptoms. Tell the guide promptly and follow the agreed descent and assistance plan. Personal insurance must explicitly suit the altitude, mountaineering, emergency assistance and your nationality; a basic policy should not be treated as a substitute for suitable personal cover.
Guiding and Equipment
Professional mountain support is included, with one-to-one guide assistance on the summit stage and shared guiding during the village-to-camp approach. The guiding language is not guaranteed to be English. Request English-language mountain support in advance so availability and any extra cost can be quoted. Technical equipment is supplied as listed, but personal clothing, footwear and a daypack remain your responsibility.
Choose the Three- or Four-Day Version
This three-day version returns to Lijiang on the evening of the summit and descent day. For a village recovery night before the drive, see the four-day Haba itinerary. Additional acclimatisation and Lijiang hotel nights are separate arrangements. The mountain team must confirm the operating route, dates, participant eligibility, cancellation terms and current quotation before booking.

Daily Itinerary

Meet near Lijiang Old Town in the early afternoon, with the precise time and road-access meeting point confirmed before departure. Travel through the Tiger Leaping Gorge corridor, making the planned brief stop where access and timing permit; an extended gorge hike is not included. Continue to Haba Village, around 2,700 metres, for the equipment check and mountain briefing. Dinner is included at the guesthouse. Treat this as the start of the core climbing programme, rather than sufficient acclimatisation by itself.
Overnight: Haba Village guesthouse
Meals: Dinner included; breakfast and lunch excluded

After breakfast, walk from Haba Village through forest and pasture toward base camp. The approach is roughly eight kilometres and normally takes five to six hours, with pace set by the mountain team. Group guides lead this section; the one-to-one summit support begins on the summit stage. Pack animals carry the agreed baggage and equipment, with a ten-kilogram personal baggage limit. At camp, check crampons, ice axe, harness and helmet use with the guide, then eat dinner and rest. Communal facilities and basic sleeping conditions should be expected.
Overnight: Shared base-camp sleeping accommodation, about 4,100 metres
Meals: Breakfast and dinner included; lunch excluded

Start before dawn only after the mountain guide assesses weather, snow, route access and the group’s condition. One-to-one summit-stage support is included, but reaching the summit is never guaranteed. Return to base camp and descend fully to Haba Village, making this the longest and most demanding day. The planned village arrival is late afternoon or early evening. Shared return vehicles leave as passengers assemble; reaching Lijiang around 22:00 is an estimate and may be later. Do not book a same-day onward flight or train, and reserve accommodation in Lijiang separately.
Overnight: No hotel included; book a Lijiang night separately
Meals: Breakfast included; lunch and dinner excluded; a post-descent fried-rice snack is supplied
