Overview
Combine Kashgar (喀什) and the Pamir (帕米尔) Highway with Aksu (阿克苏) and Kuqa (库车) on a ten-day Xinjiang (新疆) journey. The route includes Karakul Lake (喀拉库勒湖), Tashkurgan (塔什库尔干) and the Panlong Road (盘龙古道) segment, then moves east through canyon and Silk Road (丝绸之路) landscapes before returning to Urumqi (乌鲁木齐).

Route and pace
Duration: 10 days. Route:
Urumqi – Kashgar – Pamir – Kuqa – Tianchi.
The Pamir section involves high elevations and access conditions that must be checked for the group. Flights, trains and road transfers need to connect with the final Tianchi outing. If the onward departure is too early for that excursion, the last day needs to be rearranged before booking.
Confirm your group departure
Request the dated programme for your party before booking. It should identify the meeting arrangements, guiding language, accommodation where applicable, included admissions and meals, and any optional activities. The day-by-day itinerary below shows the planned sequence; the written confirmation sets out the services and conditions for your departure.

Price and Departure Confirmation
Price on request. Send your preferred date, party size, room arrangement and arrival details for a written quotation. Ask whether the departure is guaranteed, its minimum and maximum group size, and the meeting point.
The quotation should state its currency and per-person or per-party basis, hotels, meals, transport and tickets, any single-room supplement, deposit and cancellation terms. An enquiry does not reserve a seat or confirm a departure.
The Kashgar city and Pamir planning guide explains how city days, passport access, mountain nights and the complete return fit together. It does not change the services or access arrangements in this itinerary.
Daily Itinerary

Arrive in Urumqi and settle into the hotel before the southern Xinjiang and Pamir section. Confirm the next day's connection to Kashgar, including luggage and terminal transfers. Keep the first day flexible rather than adding a fixed city excursion after arrival, particularly when the onward departure requires an early start.

Travel from Urumqi to Kashgar on the connection included in the confirmed itinerary. After arrival and hotel transfer, use the remaining time for an orientation walk in the old city. The depth of the visit depends on the transport schedule; a late arrival calls for a shorter introduction rather than a promised full afternoon of sightseeing.

Leave Kashgar for the Karakul Lake section of the Pamir Highway, with the route's access arrangements checked before travel. Stop at permitted viewing places and keep walking gentle as the elevation increases. The final itinerary must identify the overnight base and the connection to tomorrow's Tashkurgan programme; views and road access remain subject to conditions.

Explore the Tashkurgan section and the Panlong Ancient Road only when the route is open and suitable for the group's vehicle. Allow time for the winding roads, permitted viewing stops and a measured pace at elevation. If road controls or weather prevent the circuit, follow the confirmed local alternative rather than promising every viewpoint.

Return from the Tashkurgan area to Kashgar along the available road route. Keep photo and rest stops within the time needed for the descent and city arrival. The day is primarily a transfer, with no obligation to repeat every outward stop; after reaching Kashgar, leave the evening flexible for rest before continuing east.

Travel from Kashgar toward Aksu using the transport arrangement stated in the booking. The two cities require a substantial intercity connection, so protect time for terminal or road procedures, meals and check-in. Keep fixed sightseeing out of the arrival evening and use Aksu as the base for tomorrow's canyon visit.

Make the Wensu Grand Canyon excursion with a route selected for current access and the group's walking ability. Use the authorised entry transport where required and agree the return point before entering longer walking sections. Allow for exposed ground and changing conditions, then return to the Aksu base before the onward travel to Kuqa.

Continue from Aksu to Kuqa, allowing a realistic block for the journey and the hotel arrival. Use any remaining daylight for a short orientation only if it fits comfortably. Tomorrow combines local heritage with another major connection, so the guide should confirm its visiting window and onward departure before adding activities today.

Use the available morning or daytime window for the Kuqa heritage visits specifically named in the booking, then take the confirmed connection to Urumqi. The transport method and arrival time must be agreed before travel; a full day of local touring cannot be assumed alongside the long onward journey. Reach a practical overnight base for tomorrow's Tianchi plan.

Visit Tianshan Tianchi Lake only within the window supported by the confirmed departure from Urumqi. Include the outward and return road transfers, scenic transport and walking time when choosing the onward flight or train. An early departure is incompatible with a full lake excursion, so that combination requires a revised sequence or an extra night before booking.
Frequently Asked Questions
The exact meeting point, local contact, check-in time and late-arrival rule must appear in the final voucher. Do not rely on a city name alone; confirm whether hotel pickup is included and how long the guide will wait.
Confirm transport, guide service, entrance tickets, meals, hotel nights and room basis, plus any shuttle, cableway, show or activity supplement. The final quotation should also state tips, optional activities and personal expenses that remain excluded.
Expect a mix of vehicle transfers, standing, steps and uneven surfaces at the named sights. Share mobility limits, recent injuries, children or older travellers before booking so the operator can confirm a realistic daily pace and any accessible alternative.
The 10 plan follows Urumqi → Kashgar → Pamir → Kuqa → Tianchi. Ask for estimated road, rail or flight time on every transfer day and avoid adding fixed evening activities after a long connection.
Suitability depends on vehicle access, steps, standing time, toilets and the group pace. Share ages, mobility aids and rest needs before booking; a shared departure cannot always slow down, while a private alternative may offer more flexibility.
A 50% deposit is required to confirm your booking, and the remaining 50% is due seven days before departure. For bookings within seven days, ask Vero Trip to confirm the payment arrangements before paying. Before booking a shared departure, obtain written confirmation of its operating status, meeting details and any minimum-participant requirement.
Cancellation charges are based on the total trip cost: no charge at 36 or more days before departure; 10% at 30–35 days; 30% at 7–29 days; 60% at 0–6 days before the tour starts; and 100% for a no-show. Actual reserved flight or train cancellation losses are additional where stated. Read the booking and refund policy for the full terms and exceptions.
