A dedicated Stone Forest day from Kunming, with a selected Greater Stone Forest walk, time in the Lesser Stone Forest when suitable, lunch and the complete return. This proposed route keeps one main scenic area as the focus. It does not add Jiuxiang caves, Naigu Stone Forest, shopping stops or a second major attraction.
Price on request. This is a route to discuss, not an announced departure or a confirmed service package. No hotel, English guide, scenic ticket or airport transfer is confirmed by this page. Your written proposal identifies the actual vehicle, pickup, admission method, guiding, meals and other inclusions before you accept.
YOUR JOURNEY
Route Map
Follow the itinerary in travel order.
Route schematic; not to scale or for navigation. See the Daily Itinerary for individual visits, optional activities and access conditions.
Your journey at a glance
1 day / 0 hotel nights. Start and finish at the agreed Kunming city location. Give the road approach, entry arrangements and return their own space; the sightseeing-cart journey is not the whole visit.
| Stage | Main purpose | Decision to settle |
|---|---|---|
| Kunming approach | Travel to the named scenic-area visitor facilities, not simply Shilin county town. | Pickup pin, vehicle, passport handling and internal transport. |
| Main visit and lunch | A selected Greater Stone Forest route, a meal break and a suitable Lesser Stone Forest section. | Walking needs, optional steps, guide language and the reunion point. |
| Complete return | Exit, rejoin the vehicle and return to the agreed Kunming city drop-off. | A firm return cutoff and any separate onward-travel buffer. |
Why give Shilin a dedicated day?
- One main Stone Forest visit, rather than a rushed multi-attraction circuit.
- A Greater and Lesser Stone Forest walking choice adjusted to the party.
- Clear separation of road transport, scenic admission, cart journeys and guiding.
- Lunch time and the complete Kunming return protected in the day plan.
Choose the main Stone Forest visitor area
Shilin’s limestone formations belong to the South China Karst World Heritage property. This day uses the main Greater and Lesser Stone Forest area, with the exact open course suited to the party. The wider district contains other landscapes; the attraction name does not mean every one is part of a single walking loop or ticket arrangement.
A particular pavilion or rock formation is a possible choice, not a compulsory checklist. Discuss the amount of walking everyone wants before entering narrower paths or stair sections. Use the Stone Forest visitor guide to compare the whole excursion and public-transport alternatives.
Admission, documents and interpretation
The scenic authority’s real-name ticket notice describes official purchase and entry arrangements, including in-person ticket-service points for foreign visitors and certain concession groups. Bring the original passport or other accepted document and settle the correct ticket method before departure. A domestic-ID or face-recognition option does not establish the same workflow for your passport.
Scenic admission, sightseeing-cart sections and guiding are separate questions. Ask which cart journeys are in the quotation and where they stop. A road vehicle does not accompany you onto every scenic path, and a driver does not automatically guide the walking visit. If interpretation in English matters, name that service and its actual scope in the written proposal.
Walking, weather and a shorter option
The experience involves outdoor walking on stone surfaces, with steps and narrower passages on some routes. A cart can reduce approach walking without making every viewpoint accessible. Share mobility needs, ages and stroller or wheelchair requirements before choosing the course; avoid relying on a general label such as easy or family-friendly.
Carry drinking water, sun protection, layers and footwear with grip. Wet rock can be slippery. In poor conditions, shorten the walk or change the day only when the revised arrangements are accepted. If the scenic area closes, agree the effect on transport and tickets; a different attraction is not an automatic included replacement.
Kunming base and onward travel
Keep accommodation in Kunming for the nights around this day if you want a straightforward return. The exact district affects the pickup and city driving. Review the Kunming stay planner before placing the excursion between arrival and departure.
A city hotel return is different from a Changshui Airport or railway-station transfer. Send your actual flight or train details if asking about either. Do not make a full scenic walk depend on catching a tight same-day departure. Bags, car seats, vehicle capacity and any storage need to be specified rather than inferred from a private-car request.
Send your date, Kunming hotel, party ages, walking preferences, document type, dietary needs and onward plans through Vero Trip’s planning enquiry. The reply should identify a workable day and the services actually offered.
Daily Itinerary
Approach: travel to the agreed scenic entrance
Meet at the accepted Kunming pickup and travel towards the Stone Forest. Allow the road journey, comfort stops and the arrival process without using a supplier's advertised drive time as a guarantee. At the visitor facilities, follow the accepted document and ticket method, then take the agreed cart section or walking approach.
Walking: choose a route through the limestone
Use a selected Greater Stone Forest course, with rest and navigation time. Keep stair viewpoints optional and agree where a shorter route rejoins the party. Continue into a suitable Lesser Stone Forest section if the open route, weather and energy allow; spending longer in one area is also a valid choice.
Lunch and the complete Kunming return
Take a proper meal break at the agreed place or bring suitable food. Lunch is not included unless the proposal lists it; confirm actual ingredients for allergies, vegetarian needs or halal requirements. Finish with time to reach the agreed exit, retrieve belongings and rejoin the return vehicle. End at the written Kunming drop-off, with no unplanned second attraction added on the way.
What's Included & Excluded
Services agreed in your written proposal
The route can be planned around a Kunming return vehicle, the chosen scenic visit and any separately agreed guiding or meal. Only the services itemised in your accepted written proposal are included. The price depends on date, party size, pickup, vehicle, walking support and admission arrangements.
Separate costs and services
No flights, trains, hotel nights, airport transfers, scenic tickets, cart tickets, English guiding, meals, insurance or optional experiences are included merely because they appear in this outline. Any accepted inclusion must be named in the quotation; other personal costs and itinerary changes remain separate.
